rear brakes over all models

are the rear brakes the same across all models i.e. will a 16v or g60 caliper work on a vr6 or are they different sizes, i now the discs are different fitment but is there more too it?

If you look at this: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/corrado_brakes.php it seems there was a change on rear calipers in 1993?

Pretty much the same... ABS cars have slightly wider pads and plus suspension uses 5 stud discs.

 

Early cars used the MK2 type calipers with an external spring and late cars used the MK3 type - all used a 38mm piston so these can be mixed and matched although best not too.

 

MK4 calipers are the way forward!

so if i didn't go for the MK4 conversion mk3 calipers would also fit, bit tight for cash so looking for used calipers
