GusPW 0 Posted May 20, 2013 Anyone bought and fitted these? http://www.veedubmachine.co.uk/brake-kit-vag-discs-rear-mk3-golf-gti-vr6-corrado-vr6-passat-p-779.html Just wondering on the quality/make of the bearings really as with the price of VAG rear disks these days this sounds like a good deal. Supercharged 2 Posted May 21, 2013 Yeah seen these - ridiculous price seeing it includes genuine dics which are £15.85 + vat each from TPS I'd maybe just question the quality of the bearings as these plus the pads only come to £15 considering the price above. Wesleyvr6 10 Posted May 21, 2013 I've got them fitted to mine, not had any problems and been running them over a year.
delfinis38 1 Posted May 21, 2013 I've got them fitted to mine, not had any problems and been running them over a year. I bought a set as an impulse buy. Bearing quality and pad quality looked rubbish so I bought new bearings and pads from euro parts...... A job like this is only worth doing once every 20k plus so best buy decent parts as it will cost more in the long run.
GusPW 0 Posted May 21, 2013 just phoned them and asked about it. he said the pads and bearings weren't oe quality, he also realized that it didn't make sense to match vag disks with lower quality bearings so he may change the offer. he offered to give me VAG disks, pagid pads and lucas bearings for £82 or £87 with abs rings. anyone know if these are any good? Yeah, that's what I thought - didn't make sense although discs are cheap from VW on trade... I'd rather go with Genuine bearings, carrier bolts then Pagid discs and Pads plus ABS rings
delfinis38 1 Posted May 21, 2013 Bearings from the dealer are about 35 quid each carrier bolts are 3quid each abs ring is 17 each. We had a discussion on bearings a few weeks ago and it was discussed that orig fit was snr or SKF. I bought SKF in the end. And pagid pads to go with orig disks. If you look on euro parts website you should be able to get snr bearings and pagid pads with 25 or 20 percent discount. At the moment. Sorry cant give you any more detail on bearing spec as I,m not at home. I'm in a windy wet mallorca for the month.
