hondahooligan 0 Posted April 16, 2003 Hi, My 1991 G60 hunts badly when in a low gear and at low revs. the revs only go up and down by 100 rpm or so,(with feet off peddles) but the car kangaroos down the roar. It stops as soon as i accelerate. I have changed the front engine mount, and checked the back 2. Any ideas?? Cheers, Andy
CazzaVR 0 Posted April 16, 2003 Could be a split hose or clogged ISV.
Dubcharged 0 Posted April 16, 2003 Try disconnecting the ISV and see if it makes a difference. (You'll have to adjust the idle screw)
hondahooligan 0 Posted April 16, 2003 Cheers for advice. I will try flushing the ISV out and check the hoses. Should i disconnect the valve electricaly? and where is the idle screw? Thanks again, Andy
G60Jet 1 Posted April 16, 2003 Check the idle screw on the back of the throttle body sounds like its leaking to me!!
menace2society 0 Posted April 21, 2003 hi there i recently had the same problem with my 1.8 16valve, i realised that the o ring on the idle speed adjustment screw was totally knackered this needed replacing (cost £1.00 halford) but this didn't sort the problem out completely until i took off the isv and cleaned it out really really well with some engine degreaser spray. Now all my idling problems are sorted. CHEAP FIXES ARE GREAT!!!
