NormanCoal 0 Posted May 25, 2004 As I was perusing the forum yesterday I came across some information that said that not all of the early VR6 models had the gearbox counterweight Is this true? I have a 92 model engine and box, and I dont appear to have one from memory - would I feel a lot of difference fitting one? Which would be better, the smaller corrado version, or the larger Golf one? Cheers Chris
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 25, 2004 I foudn that the larger golf one hit the coolant hoses and made shifting awkward. not a problem with the corraod one. bloody awful without one.
NormanCoal 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Are you talking about the larger Golf one hitting in a Corrado or a MK2 Paul? Seems like mine never had one at all - Now glad that I kept that fecked 02A in the garage
PhatVR6 0 Posted May 25, 2004 the golf one didn't work in my mk2. but strangely it did in my previous mk2?!?!?
kvwloon 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Fitting the weight made a big difference to the feel of the shifting on my 16v, much more 'snick', 'snick'
NormanCoal 0 Posted May 25, 2004 Its going to be a try it and see then - the only problem that I can see is the routing of the pas pipes, ie where I have put them

Saw the same weight on a VR yesterday.
