Ray1965 10 Posted January 12, 2015 Today the small arm on the wiper motor that connects to the wiper mechanism has come off, and will not push on and stay on..(deep joy). Just wondered if anyone has had the same problem and if it can be repaired and how without replacing the whole sha-bang.

Ray1965 10 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Just an update tried to do the fix the arm back on, with no joy as the bush is worn. Ordered new arm from Vw Heritage. (Part number 53695532). Also ordered a new Water take off flange for the top of the Radiator whilst i was at it. (part number 535-121-647). Total price £28 next day delivery. Just for future reference for those who don't know both the above parts are now not available at VW. Both were Discontinued in 2011 and 2012. Ray1965 10 Posted January 14, 2015 Is there a way to get the link arm off shown in the pics of this post here: http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?t=24382 of the wiper motor end without having to remove the whole motor
Wullie 1 Posted January 14, 2015 Bonnet up, switch on wipers then switch on ignition and watch the arm on the motor till the joint is most exposed. Switch off ignition to stop the wipers so it stays there. don't switch off the wiper switch or it will return to the parked position. Get two levers and lever off keeping the levers on opposite sides of the joint. If it tilts to one side it makes it more difficult to get off.
Ray1965 10 Posted January 14, 2015 Cheers Wullie did this as per your instructions 30 mins before you replied lol. New linkage is now fitted and all seems to be good. Part was ordered dinner time yesterday and came this morning at 8am. Top service from VWH.
