'93 VR6 won't start after being sat

Recommended Posts

I moved my VR into the garage for the Winter period to do work on her, early December. She had no trouble starting cold or warm prior to that.

After a couple weeks I ran the air con for about 20 minutes to get rid of moisture, but without starting her up.

A day later I went to start her and while lights, air, electrics all worked she wouldn't turn over at all.

Low and behold the next day she did first time, so I let her run for a few minutes.

About 1 week ago I tried starting her again and once more, all electrics work, but she won't turn over. Fuel pump can be heard priming and a click comes from somewhere.

I've replaced the ignition switch and all the plugs and still the same situation. Battery is fairly new, plenty of fuel.

I'm assuming the next thing would be the Starter motor or the starter solenoid. Anything I can do to confirm this/is this the likely culprit?

Starter hasn't been changed before by the looks of it and she has done 122k.

Thanks!

I've tried giving the starter a whack, all fuses and relays are well seated.

Is there anything I can do to check that it is the starter not working?
