Fuse 15 causing me problems again

Recommended Posts

I recently had a problem where my electric windows stopped working in my 2.0 1992 valver. Anyway it seemed to fix when I replaced fuse 15, but now its back. The fault is/was intermittent however after now replacing the fuse a few times, I'm getting a bit miffed.

I know the fuse controls the windows and mirrors but does anyone else know what else?

Anyone had a similar problem to point me in the right direction? I hate having to pull panels randomly looking for bust wires.

Just been searching the net and other have had the same problem, but with fuse 14 rather than 15 so I may have counted wrong. Either way it doesn't help as nobody had posted the cause, they were just looking for it like me.

you could try checking the elec window controller box which is behind the driver side rear passenger door card IIRC

i have read about a loose connection to such causing windows to not work but that didnt mention a fuse blowing

Windows work fine and are not sticking. They even work when the fuse has blown if the door is open (others too got this symptom).

It's now over a week after the fix with no more blown fuses so I'm confident to share what the problem was.

It was the feed to the heated windscreen jets that had worn through with all the bonnet opening the corrado gets. The wire runs at the side of the bonnet hinge on the passenger side.
