delfinis38 1 Posted August 13, 2016 what do you guys use to change the oil filter on a VR... after 20 years I've managed to destroy the plastic housing the filter goes in.... I've always used a 36mm socket to remove the filter but to day I've manages to destroy the plastic nut on the housing.... so I will be after a new housing on Monday.. managed to get the housing off with a standard oil filter chain round the upper 14 flutes. but it wasn't nice.. ives seen cups that fit the 14 flutes but nothing deep enough. Jon_vr6 1 Posted August 13, 2016 Ive always done the 36mm socket way i think problems occur with age and overtightening as it only needs to be nipped up. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
GlosterOx 0 Posted August 13, 2016 Snap, always used a 36mm socket without any problems as long as you don't overtighten it. Ian.

It's max 25 n/m but I do find it tight. Will see if I can get a new cup or decent secondhand one on Monday.
