vr6paul 0 Posted March 5, 2017 Having not done many miles in the Vr6 I have now bought a g60 as a daily - hopefully! Any ideas on a heavy throttle cable ? I remember stocks running low at Vw years ago. Down on eBay I think - anyone found any anywhere else assuming they are not serviceable? VEEDUBBED 0 Posted March 5, 2017 Pull the thing out, put it in a vice and oil the inner Cable, gravity will take care of the oil, normally works fine, unless on of the cable strands has snapped.. Then I'll sell you a good spare cable.. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

vr6paul 0 Posted March 8, 2017 Nothing from Vw - obsolete. Going to try the Veedubbed method above. It's so sticky the car holds onto revs as the throttle slowly closes. Simeon 0 Posted March 8, 2017 Yeah, there is a metal clip that you adjust to take the slack out of the cable. Usually what happens is people over tighten the cable thereby preventing the throttle from closing properly, however clearly not the case in your instance. From what you describe I would suspect a fault with the throttle body, perhaps removing it and giving it a good clean and look over would be best place to start.
