window wont shut on my golf 16v, took the door trim off and connected the terminals the other way round so that the window shut.........obviously wont open now though....

can anyone confirm its the motor that i need to replace and do the Corrados use the same one as there is a thread selling them for £35........guess that must be cheaper than GSF ?

sounds like the switch to me G-Lader...

 

If it won't go up with the wires one way, and then won't go down with the wires the other, then the motor and mechanism has worked in both directions and it's just the wiring which isn't working properly... :|

yeah, sounds like the switch mate, seeing as it did close when reveresed

If you could tell me how many pins/wires you have on your switch when you get a chance, I'd appreciate....

swapped the switches over and hey presto.............it worked fine Thanks Henny.
