Schreech on start up

Recommended Posts

Sounds like something is grinding or stalling or something.

Before that the car started up and the rpms slowly dropped until the car stalled.

I think im really low on gas or possibly out. would this cause this to happen?

need an awser sort of asap

high pitched but solid sort of crunching screech could be the gears in the starter slipping or it could have worn/broken teeth.

"Before that the car started up and the rpms slowly dropped until the car stalled. " - this however suggests something else.

If it was belt the noise would get worse with quick revs?

im sorry but thats all i can think off.

can you describe the noise more?

Sounds like it maybe charger problems - when was your charger last serviced ?? Possibly even a worn cambelt - may have jumped a tooth or so ??

The charger blowing would make the engine stutter then stall right at start up?
Depends what may have gone wrong inside the charger but yes it could.

Try removing the long poly-belt & turning the charger pulley by hand. Should turn smoothly & freely. Also remove & check for excess oil in the charger outlet pipe. Should be a very light coating of oil inside the pipe - any more than this & your apex/scroll seals inside the charger are likely to be damaged.

Not sure how many miles your car has done but the chargers have been known to "blow" from 50,000miles upwards !!

If your charger feels okay - have a look at your cam belt. Cam belt needs changing every 50,000 miles too. If your cambelt has gone or jumped by more than 1 tooth - expect cylinder head & valve damage !!
