DazzyVR6 - What this about my motor? Post up a link dude!
-
Just a quick one... As you may have noticed from my sig, I drive a Highline. The engine is more powerful than the standard Golf VR6 (confirmed many times on rolling road days) due to and electrinic throttle body and different ECU map. The output from a Highline engine is more like the 190bhp seen from the C. As for the handling, a freind has a C with the same FK coilover setup as I have. We have yet to find a road that can seperate the cars at all. At the end of the day I'd say drive one straight after the other and then choose the one like the most. You certainly won't be dissapointed with either! HTH

VR6 - The installation was hard because of having to relocate the carbon canister. I have a mk3 VR not a C. The fitting for a C is sooo much easier! And just to comment on the service from Turn2..... I had some questions when I bought the kit from VR6, they were answered within 30 mins of being posted on the Turn2 forum! Top bit of kit, top service! Well worth investing in! Good throttle response too!

As ray_vr6 said, Top blokes! I've had coilovers and exhaust fitted by them. Mark and John are both very helpful and will give you an honest answer (which is unusual!) and top notch service! HTH

I use Valvoline 15w 40 Fully synthetic. The VR runs so smooth with this. Much smoother than with Magnatec IMO.

Where can I get one of these little beauties from? Are they expensive? More to the point has anyone got one and are they worth the money???? Thanks in advance!
-
Yeah, but the mkII golf was good and the C is even better!
-
I thought the figure of 190bhp was taken from the driven wheels not the flywheel!?
-
I just removed mine totally. But as said before, don't block the petrol tank breather.
-
Fantastic bit of kit! Only downside is the installation.
-

With you on the Speedlines there jims16v. I was chatting to someone at inters on sunday that had a sherry pearl C. (I didn't get your name sorry!) He had some rufurbed speedlines on and had lowered it about 40mm-ish. It looked spot on! But must say, multispokes do suit the C down to the ground!
-
This is true, as I'm running FK's at the mo and they are exactley the same as the FK's Dan is running on his blackberry C.

Hey 8VG60 I didn't know that was you! I was in the car park of the holiday in express cleaning the wheel on my Golf Highline when you pulled in! Had a good look round you motor. That charger make a lovely noise!!!!!
-
The Golf Highline has the OBD2 engine (slightly improved version of the origional 2.8VR) and uses and electronic throttle body and a different ECU so push out 190ish bhp standard (which I can confirm p!sses you C drivers off immensely! ).
-
Surely that would make the times quicker?
-
Whats the URL of the ccgb site? Yes, yes poke fun all you like! But I don't own a C..... Yet......... Just looking into it!!! :D
-

So I take it that A/C could not be specified as an option?
