HI Solved the prob turned out to be the hall sensor. thought it was so went to gsf to get one but unfortunatly they didn`t have one. drove it that day and it finally died on the a38 in the outside lane, Managed to get into the layby ok. RAC was there within 15 min unfortunatly had to wait 2 hours for the recovery truck because it was lowered!! Could`nt get a dizzy from anywhere but thank god for the scrappers. Its running now but need to stick a strobe light on it to get right.

hi sorry to take so long to reply! seem to spend my life at work Probably to pay for all the corrados little probs .that car is definetly female. The prob seems to not always occour when the car is cold yesterday it started fine and ran ok but hiccupped on the way home but still ran fine the knocking i think is a loose alarm unit. The blue temp sensor has recently been changed for new. but i have swapped it over for the guage unit but haven`t had time to test it. yet as the oil cooler hose has split and dumped oil over the drive hopefully gett chance to do it tommorrow. I Know that the car overfuels slightly as it needs setting up but this prob has only recently started occouring and seems to be getting worse pointing to a component failing. This fault seems to be exactly the same as yours rob. lets hope we can sort it.

Hi i have done a quick search on this and suspect the hall sender but just want to clarify a few points. My g60 will start fine from cold then as soon as its running for about 10 secs will die. When you try to start it again it will turn over quickly with no indication of the sparkplugs firing then after an age it will pick up on one or two cylinders and run lumpy until slowly all four cylinders kick in. It started doing this occasionaly but now does it every morning and evening. You can get round it if your quick and boot it as soon as its running it still runs rough but wont die. As well as this i have noticed a knock from the engine bay which has only stated happening since this problem got worse Is my dizzy dying? Also the car has died going down the motorway and then picked up again and this morning although the car was running fine the rev counter suddenly dropped to zero and then popped back up to 2000 revs any ideas.? before i blow £75.00 on a dizzy?

thanks vwdubs. I just assumed that was company practice, always thought it was a rip off for altering a few details. Il have to remember that next time they try and rip me off  Cheers

Hi again Its funny how different companies deal with moving house. When we moved from torquay to plymouth. My G/F policy with adrian flux cost her 15 quid admin charge. Mine with chris knott cost me nearly 50 Quid! Mind you she has only got a polo  Another excuse to go back to adrian flux. Then again maybe not after just reading storm2 post! personally tho when you need them they are better than most.
-
hi Il go back with adrian flux next year after hearing this and the other post. have Been with flux for about four yearsin the past as they could never be beat on price. Only problem with them is that they are an absolute pain to get hold of them!!. But are really good when you make a claim (like when my G/F wrote off my modded golf last year!) I only went with chris knott because they managed to beat the nearest quote, were Friendly, and easy to get hold of.

Hi Storm2 I was at longleat on sunday with a burgandy g60. Drove up from plymouth after catching the ad on corrado forum the night before. It was the first corrado meet i`d been to, usuallly end up getting taken to the aircooled stuff by the missus and her 68bug (saw some cool corrados going down the strip at bug jam this year) It was great to see so many good looking c`s and thanks everybody for the advice on the suspension, I can`t wait to start adding a few extras, but got to wait until the insurance pay out after my modded 2.0 mk2 got squashed last year. Any C`s from plymouth?

Has anybody had this problem before.? In the boot of my c on the drivers side i get water ingress, enough to soak the carpet but i can`t seem to see were its coming in? Anybody got any ideas? Cheers

Hi all wonder if you can help My 91 g60 stinks of fuel in the cabin when started on a cold day and it continues to smell until it warms up. The engine dose`nt seem affected by this and starts first time and runs sweet as a nut. How do i reduce the amount of fuel the engine is chucking in on a cold start as it is definetly overfuelling. Thanks. Oh is it best to replace the Cat with a cat replacement pipe? as it`s rattling like a pig And finally What would a 4-1 downpipe be like would it be worth the effort as mine is quite badly cracked and i was wondering whether to replace it with a 4-1 pipe. Thanks again.

Oh forgot to say thanks for the info in this topic. I did`nt even know Chris Knott existed before looking here. Cheers

Just done the dreaded insurance renewal and managed to get fully comp with Chris Knott for £569.50 for a G60 with no mods 4 years ncb and im 25 with 5 points. Bit better than adrian flux renewal premiumwhich were £675 originally Churchill quoted me £1195!! Oh and i managed to save £50 just by ringing back and forth with my exsisting insurer and chris Knott Has anybody thought about getting classic insurance? as long as the corrado is a second car and your over 25 and no points (Bugger got to wait until 2006 for me.) then it should be cheaper. (girlfriends got a beetle on Classic 22, 1 years ncb 1300cc £164 fully comp on £3000 agreed value!! )

R1 Vs Stage 4 and Charge cooled Vs Intercooled Vs Water Inj?
Rolyg60 replied to raddo_g60's topic in Engine Bay
yeah i`d like to knowas well? which is better R1 or stage 4 as my charger is overdue for a rebuild. I use the car daily so I would prefer the boost to be smooth over the whole rev range is the r1 more like a heavly cam`ed car shite to 4 grand then ohh F****K? Also i`d like to have a good reliabilityon the lump . Im guessing because of the lower pressures the stage 4 would be better than the R1? Any answers? Cheers tom -
