  1. Continued... I will have to wait until the start of the month as I need to put her in for a mot this week and I an worried she mail fail miserably & that its going to eat all my remaining funds up. I will message you around the 3rd.
  2. I will have that seal off you 100%, UK passanger side yeah?. Even though I only bodged my one maybe 3-4mm, I cant live with it as it will niggle away at me, knowing that its not perfect.
  3. So I fitted it today, took me about 4-5 hours hahaha serious, but its water proof now :-) Cheers Si, your step by step guide was spot on and very very helpfull. The only thing I'd like to add, is getting the new glass in was the trickiest part. I got the glass in from the inside of the door, putting the front part of the glass down in and sliding it towards the front of the door, and then putting the back part in. The bit that ****ed me for like 2 hours was getting the rail thing that goes from the locking pin to the bottom of the door. I wangled this in by moving the glass almost back out, but of the outside of the door and when it went on i just lowered it down. I left the outside seal on as, when I was removing it I bent it, damn, but its only the edge where it goes over the rear end of the door's pillar, so not too bad. Where he starts from in the vid @VAG-Hag, mate thanks for hooking me up with the glass, your a life saver!
  4. Awesome. Now I just need a few tins of spinach to pluck up the courage to actually attempt it!
  5. Hi all, I just have one more problem to fix, the bloody heater matrix. To be honest I am bricking it as from what I have seen it looks like a right c u next tuesday! Especially with my very limited mechanical knowledge. I have seen a few posts about taking the whole dash out vs partially removing it. Does anyone have a step by step guide of doing this, as its a bit daunting. I ideally want to replace the whole thing including the pipes that run the fluid back into the engine bay - so I wont have to worry about it for years to come. Can this be done by only partially removing the dash, or do I need to fully remove it to get at the pipes? Is there anything I should be aware of prior to undoing things? Can anyone advise if all these parts required are still available aswell?
  6. Thanks for the advise VE Rule, I am hoping to give it a shot this weekend, weather permitting. Before it was broken, I did have a problem with the window and thought I maybe able to sort it at the same time. The window worked fine as in it went up and down ok, but if it was say, half way down, it would rattle. I cant remember if it did it all the way down, but it didn't do it when it was all the way up. I assume it was just loose, so I will make sure any screws are quite tight but could this mean something else is wrong aswell?
  7. @Si, Cool man. I will let you know how I get on. If I bodge getting the old one off I will 100% be having it off you. But hopefully I will get it off as it is on the car, as I really dont want to have more things to replace. Is there anything else I should be aware of while dismantling the door? Like the window raising mechanism etc..?
  8. I am going to be incredibly carefull with that bit (as advised in the video) but just out of curiosity & if impatience gets the better of me, whats the price?
  9. @VAG-hag, I will take it! You the man! & my Baby is very gratefull! I will PM you my contact details, I will be able to get a DHL guy to pick it up from you newt week (whenever is easiest for you).
  10. The thing was, it was loaded the the hilt with tools from my work that I had been attempting to fix her with. They didn't even take any of it, which is why I feel like what was the point! @VAG-hag, I'm interested but whats FOC? How much you want for it? I maybe able to get it picked up by DHL from my work. @VW Rule, thanks for the offer mate. What is facevalue of the glass you have? I am interested. Also cheers for the heads up RE: the outer seal, I am soo close to having her going again, I think I'd have just ripped that off with my teeth! (and ****ed it up)
  11. Its a pitty I was at home. The car was sorn'ed at my work carpark (so it didn't get towed for not having tax). Ahh that is a relief that they are universal. That should make finding one a little easier. If anyone hears of one, please let me know.
  12. I know, I was screwing, I have only just got her started aswell, thought I was coming to the end of her problems... I am based in Ruislip, N/W London. Does anyone know if all the corrado door glass is generic, as in either a G60, 16V or VR6 glass will fit. So you can feel my pain.
  13. Some little ****er threw a brick through my passenger side door window on my '93 VR6. Little **** didn't even take anything, just smashed it and ran off for fun! Even got the whole thing on cctv, but the res is pretty low and no faces can be seen. :-( It needs replacing, is there any points I should be aware of when looking for a replacement. Can any Corrado door glass replace it, or do I need a specific part depending on the age model of my Corrado. If anyone has a 93 Corrado VR6 that no longer needs the passenger side glass, I will take it!
  14. Sweet, hopefully this will be the end of it and it'll start/run!
  15. I checked the lines today where they connect to the fuel rail, it looks like it was leaking a bit after trying to start it. I guess either the line and retraining clip, or the rail has perished and the pressure has burst through. Hopefully its just the clip thing, can I replace that with a jubilee clip or does it have to be that specific part?
  16. The black badge looks sick too!
  17. Sure enough it clipped in from the outside of the car! Attached within about 25 seconds!!! I cant believe I was soo dumb!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA I just looked at it and thought, oh so the prongs go through those holes and the clips must clip onto the prongs on the other side of the boot...
  18. so I got the new fuel pump in there. Tried starting it, turned over for a second and then the battery was dead. the next day, I was trying to get my rear VW badge on and I thought I may have dropped one of the clips in the fuel tank (as I put it in, in the dark and all my other bits and bobs were just in the boot) I went to look, as I was undoing the fuel lines the one that goes to the engine ****ed out with petty as soon as I nearly undid it from the top of the fuel pump assembly, so I assume the fuel pump works fine as that 1-2 second turnover put fuel under presseue into the line. I charged my battery up and went to start it today. Second go it started, ran for about 10 - 15 seconds, all beit a bit spluttery, then died. Then it wouldn't start back up. Any ideas people???
  19. So, putting the blue clip at the right angle in some needle nose pliers (so it aligns up with the prongs on the badge), taping it shut in the pliers so the clip doesn't fall out (into the bit I called the black hole, where you needed to make a coathanger tool to get the clip back out after any previous failed attempts - its there, look and you will see ;-) ), getting it inline with the prongs inside of the body of the boot using only index and middle fingers while not cutting them of course, align with hole and push against the out side of the car, while pushing the badge on with your knee! Isn't the proper way it should be done?
  20. Please don't tell me I wasted my time and hacked my hand up trying to get it clipped on from inside the car and I just push it in from the outside of the car. I thought they clipped on from inside the boot, its a right ******* to get to.
  21. does anyone know how to get the rear badge on? I have been trying to get those 2 blue clips on for about 3 hours to no avail. Its really tricky to get your hand into the body of the car to position the clip, I can just about get it inline but its soo tricky to reach I have no force left to clip it on. Does anyone have a trick for this, or is there some sort of tool I need. I have tried all sorts! I suppose I could always superglue it but I'd rather use the proper clips...
  22. Hi people, I went to VW's authorized parts centre, I can get the pump and housing (VDO type) but the sender is now discontinued. FFS! How can they make the pump and housing but not the sender? If I buy the new style pump and pump housing, is there any way I can DIY the old (blue) sender onto the new housing, I was thinking either a couple of zip ties and or superglue? Or does anyone have the new type (VDO) fuel sender they want to get rid of??????????????????????
  23. Could I possibly get the exact same (VDO) assembly from either G&S or Allparts, but for less? Does this have a special identifying number? How about this assembly, its only £30 and it looks like it has all the parts in the one assembly. Can that be right, for £30??? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PETROL-PUMP-ELECTRIC-3-0-BAR-WITH-FUEL-SENDER-UNIT-VW-VOLKSWAGEN-/370965049363?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVW%7CModel%3ACorrado&hash=item565f3d7013
