Might not be to everyone's taste, hey I'm still not sure about it. But here goes. While waiting for paint to dry I cleaned up the bench and toolboxes too...

It'll get there. I ran out of degreaser (5cans!!!) but I'll get more for the weekend and keep at it. Yeah a few people pointed at the scuttle panel. (Confused & clueless) is it special?

Armed with degreaser, jet wash, wet & dry and VHT paint (and lots of coffee) last night I managed to get a lot done (in my eyes). Planning on clean(ish) hands when I get under the bonnet in the future. The aftermath And the mock up. I like it. Will go over with red paint on the inside of the engravings on the manifold. Waiting for a steady hand day.

Cheers, I missed that thread.

Count me in. Although I need a few weeks for the corrado to be on the road..

Thank you . Sometimes the story makes the car . This might look like a clapped out 90s boy racer car. But to me, it's the reason I'm selling my a4 diesel, and it's what keeps me up at night. It's mine! And I love it! Thanks for the positive comments guys. Really makes me feel all fluffy inside. And proud, definitely proud. Small progress again. Stripping as much as possible ready for new parts.

Thanks redborbet, I thought that last night when fla mentioned it. Think I'll go with black paint for a longer lasting decent look. I don't have the patience to remove the manifold once a month for cleaning etc. no way!
-
High temp paint I'm guessing... Wish I had the time and patience to maintain polished bits on the engine but I think I'll bail and go all High Temp Satin Black on the engine bay ....

So, it begins... Intake off, rocker cover coming off tomorrow, awaiting new gaskets, everything will be polished, painted and/or cleaned before it all goes back together with fresh oils, belts and filters. Sorry about the small updates. Only get a few hours a day with a very very tight budget at the moment. Waiting for parts now. Anyone got any tips to polish the manifold and other aluminium bits?
-
Thanks for the tip, That's on the list too... Along with rear brake lines, new brake fluid, doing as much as funds allow me to.

Thanks guys. Yeah, my girlfriend is a star! Now, awaiting funds to pay for new oils, filters, engine mounts, cambelt water pump. And much more. Few quid short of £400... Anyone preparing for Dubstock?
-
That definitely gave me something to think about thank you. Will have a good look around. Thank you

Hi guys. Newbie here, only just spotted the engine is about to fall out of my rrado. I'd like to replace all the engine mounts. How many are there? And where can I find then all? Even if they're the oem ones. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Looks good to me... Mine still needs deep cleaning inside

Give me 3 weeks to get mine on the Road, and in the condition I want it to be, as long as my skill and attention span of a stapler lasts..... Then name a place and time.... Coming to Dubstock btw??? We're thinking of a stand etc
