Hi All, Just to put the record straight, the car you refer to is being stored in my mate's car showroom - Specialist Cars of Kendal - which was set up by my business partner and I a few years ago to sell interesting cars as a hobby and we sold it on to Roger who worked there approx 3 years ago. The car will be on show for people to look over and admire when not being used on dry days. Like most things in life (excluding the wife and kids)it is for sale however if it does sell my kids have promised me that they will be hell to pay. We all went out in it in a gorgeous weekend in the Lakes and it was fantastic; currently it is at a specialist VW garage with a mechanic who worked on Corrados originally and raves about them so it will get the continued love and attention it deserves - an oil and filter change with OEM parts, the headlight wiring loom upgraded and hopefully the heater fixed as that does not work along with a few other niggles like intermittent ABS light and the temp guage not working this morning although after 50 miles I turned off the ignition and both started to work again. As I said previously I owned the very first VR6 in the country J629 OFR bought out of VW in Haydock (they no longer exist) and loved it - I have been searching for one for years and this one finally fitted the bill and will get the love, attention and respect it deserves with due deference to Chris who did such a fantastic job on it. Should someone come along who wishes to take ownership of this vehicle it will be because they think it is a fabulous example which is pretty much original and I am someone who will keep it that way whether it stays in the family for a few weeks or a few years. I am disappointed that anyone on the forum feels that they have any right whatsoever to judge me or my motives as they do not know me from Adam. Profit is no motivation whatsoever in this case as the profit if it sold insigificant in its effect upon my life and anyway as you rightly say it is highly unlikely it will sell at that price. I find a potential owner that I think will love it and will pay that price or very close to it then: a) my wife and kids will possibly still talk to me b) If anyone wants it, they will be able to afford to keep it in the condition it should be. Incidentally I have no intention of advertising on here but hopefully people will be helpful in pointing me in the right direction should it need parts as it is already showing up a few problems as I said previously and I want to keep it as close to perfect as possible. Just one more thing - I doubt that there can be many better examples of a VR6 around and it is great that the marque is so admired and my judgemet of what a great car it is was correct back in 1992. I appreciate that previous owners may look at me as a heratic but that is the perogative of previous owners of this particular vehicle and interestingly enough if this does sell at a higher price it will positively effect the residual value of all superb examples of VR6 Corrados so you all win if you have one and look after it. I have said my bit and I am unlikely to comment further as a slanging match and abuse from those who think they know better and have some devine right to judge me or my motives without knowing me at all interests me not one jot. -

Thanks Ian, As very new to here, can you point me in the right direction for headlamp loom supplier and whether TT or Lupo wipers are best as it looks from what I can find that you need to cut Lupo ones, Many thanks Steve -

Many thanks - your help is really appreciated, Best regards Stephen -
I have just bought a lovely '95 Plate VR6 off Bill Cor (a few posts here) after wanting to replace the one I had way back in 1992 - I believe the only J reg VR6 as I was too impatient to wait a few days until August 1st to have it as a K reg but was written off by a friend. New one is N164CWG and wondered if any previous owners know if any mods have been done - I am thinking of the headlight wiring loom, and wipers to TT or Lupo (will see how current ones are 1st in the rain) and read about an engine upgrade but can't now find the thread - it just seems to improve mid range power and flexibility and was around £295 if someone can remind me and also wondered about air con and which is the best to fit and anyone done it or had it done as I might even use this car properly next summer. Any help appreciated as a non mechanic but employ quite a few so will be using them !!
