Seeing as ive had no interest in my car ive decided that i may try get new engine for it. If i do so, the engine that comes out il be looking to strip and start learning about them. So any advice on tools, equipment, or where i can get detailed manual etc on it. Surely it cant be that hard, or is it??

does anyone know if samco hoses will fit a 16v?? been looking around on neet and cant see any for it, just g60, will these fit?? id really like to give the engine bay a bit of colour, plus thats another shitty black plastic pipe burst on me

ok ive decided to keep my 16v, and gonna get the engine back into shape, now trouble is where do i get the parts? which parts do i need, and does anyone know a garage where i could get it done in the ayrshire/glasgow area?? or does anyone know how to do it thereself and fancy a project to keep them busy, id rather pay someone from here than a garage who will no doubt rip the arse out of it, what is a rough overall cost of it all, parts and labour if were to get in done in a garage. and id like to replace the parts with better quality bits and maybe performance parts to get a little extra power

as im working in cyprus, and am only home for 2-3 weeks at a time, and away for 3-4 months, whats the best thing to do whilst leaving the car, because it doesnt get driven or anything, is this maybe why im having so many problems with it?

yeah, well i suppose, when i turn the key it starts but doesnt run, then when i turn key back it goes off again, although sometimes when i was trying to start it would sort of start for a split second and id hear the exhaust kick in and puff of smoke come out the back, ive tried soaking out as much as i can but its still in there, do all 4 spark plugs have to be connected to start the car?

yeah theres fuel in the car, surely the sparkplug shouldnt have oil in it though, it was literally swimming in it, and it was the only left hand which had this in it, yeah and my battery is fine, just had a full charge the other night. when i turn the key the engine starts but it just doesnt stay on if that makes any sense

tried to start my car today and no joy, i found yet another bursthose on radiator, top one. thats not the big problem though, my car was just not managing to turnover, i noticed a lot of oil on top of engine, so i pulled out the left hand side spark plug thingey and noticed it is full of oil, none of the other ones are like this. How could this possibly happen? as ive never spilled any directly in it while puttin oil in, its wanting to start but just not kicking in, ive tried to soak as much as i can out but it just doesnt seem to go away at all, anyone any idea at all what could be the cause of this?

can you change an automatic into a manual?? how much will that cos t and how is it done?

i think my engine aint running as it should, i was wondering what sort of cost it would be to get it rebuilt! And has anyone done it before in the west of scotland, glasgow area, to recommend a garage. What sort of things get changed to improve it?
