All boils down to if you have a friendly mot tester tbh. Insurance would not be a problem either, just make sure you demand the car goes back to your home or garage, and just whip the wheels off before an inspector for the insurance comes to see it, providing the car is worth enough for them to bother with.

100% the 2.9 is bigger as in the butterfly and bore. But the 2.9 tb will fit a 2.8 inlet.

At the moment I have a 2.8 tb on a 2.9 inlet and it works fine

you still trying to sort the sunroof out? im breaking my rado and have a fully working sunroof on it.

Theres plenty out there, have a look on e38 sometimes a good one will pop up on there, as will ebay.

You will soon get fed up of the auto pal. Mine was an auto and it was so slow and had no guts. Did the manual conversion and it was a different car all together.

Im actually breaking the car at present, got loads of manual conversion parts on it!!! ; )
