I was able to get it open today! All i did was drop the window then used some WD-40 and sprayed some on the latch mechanism inside of the door. I used a coat hanger to push down on the latch and then put the key into the door and gave it a few turns and the lock came all the way up, viola the door popped open. I think the mechanism just need some lubrication to get the parts moving. I can open it from both the inside and out now. Just to be safe i did the same to the driver side so that it wouldn't get stuck either. Thank you all for your help!

Bump still can't get the door open any help would be appreciated

I tried locking the door while I was inside and tried to open the passenger door by pulling the lever, I don't feel no tension/resistance at all when pulling on the door handle from the inside. How ever I can feel a little tension when opening the driver side door which I can open from both the inside and outside.

Hi all, i have searched for some threads on corrado doors not working and I've only come across the broken latch problem. I don't believe my latch is broken and the handle is still on the door. Here is the issue: When i put the key in the door and turn key to open lock, i can visibly see both locks going up (The fuel tank cover also opens) . At this point i can open the driver side door but i can not open the passenger side. I tried turning the key on the passenger side door from the outside and the lock goes up but when pulling gone the handle the door doesn't budge. I even tried opening the passenger side door from in side and it still does t budge. Any ideas on what might be the problem and how i can fix it? I don't want to keep pulling on t

FS/FT 1993 Vr6 Corrado Asking $5200 (Price is Negotiable) in NYC am also interested in trading my corrado for an Acura Integra of equal or similar value. I would also entertain trades for a nissan sentra se-r (b14) or a nissan 240x. All cars considered for trade must be Manual and in working condition. I am not looking to trade for a project car. The car is located in NYC. I have the title in hand and the title is clean. Here are some of the specs/mods for the corrado: See pictures below! The corrado runs great, it has 112k on the body and 90k on the motor, the motor is a 2.8L vr6 swapped from a 1997 jetta, Sachs clutch kit, giac performance chip, race land coilovers, tectonics /borla exhaust, mk4 shift box. Oil change new and filter done about 2 week ago coolant change done last week, new heater core, new hoses, every thing electrical works (horn, sunroof, windows, wing,) car has a clean paint Job no scrathes or dents. Battery replaced within the last 5 months. A bunch of other small oem parts have been replaced as well The only things wrong with the car are: The driver side seat belt motor needs to be replaced (must latch seat belt manually for use) Car has No AC but i have AC lines that will be included with any sale or trade involving the car. The reason i am looking to sell/trade the car is because i want to get back into the Japanese import realm of cars. The corrado has no mechanical and electrical issues and runs perfectly. The transmission shifts smoothly with no gear grinds or pops and the clutch engages right away. If interested i can be reached via phone/text at 718-600-2028 or by PM. List Date: 5/3/2015 Location: New York, NY, United States For more info, click here to view the original listing: FS/FT 1993 Vr6 Corrado Asking $5200 (Price is Negotiable) in NYC -------------------------------------- On Sale For: $5,200.00 (Local Pickup Only) --------------------------------------

Easiest Plug and Play engine swap for SLC?
ryanb1031 replied to ryanb1031's topic in Newbies Hangout
Thanks for the info i defiantly will take the time to look through some previous posts about the swaps. As for the reasearch ive done and with the advice for you guys I'm leaning more towards updating my current motor with cams and other standalone system then just turboing my current engine. -

Thanks, how hard would it be to do a turbo swap like a 1.8t or something best fit for boost? -

What ever is the cheapest and compatible with what i already have, ideally $2000 would be the most but if it costs more to do i wouldn't mind going over a little bit -
Easiest Plug and Play engine swap for SLC?

What about a swap for better performance? -
Hello all i recently purchased a 1993 VW Corrado SLC. The corrado has a vr6 engine swapped in that came from a 1997 Jetta with an original SLC tranny. This motor has about 90k miles on it and i am looking to replace it with a motor with less miles. I am fairly new to the VW world and I'm not sure what other engines can be bolted on directly into my corrado. What engine swaps are the easiest plug and play bolt ons for the corrado i have? Is a 1.8t swap a simple plug and play swap? What are the cheapest options vs expensive options? What other parts might i need for a swap other than the motor? I would like to use the the same tranny i have now in the car so what swaps are compatible with the slc tranny? Here are just a few specs and mods of my current corrado i would like to have a swap that is compatible with these mods that i currently have: 12k on the body 90k on the motor, the motor is a 2.8L vr6 swapped from a 1997 jetta, Sachs clutch kit, giac performance chip, race land coilovers, tectonics exhaust, mk4 shift box. I have done tons of research but have found mixed answers and and opinions on the swaps. Im hoping i can find clear cut precise info on here so that i can begin this project. Any help will be much appreciated!

Thank you for the offer, i just ordered the hose online :thumbleft:
-
It is the heater hose correct? it connects from the head to the heater core and the throttle body.. I just want to make sure im buying the right part.

Thanks alot im going to order it now, When your hose was leaking was your engine getting hotter than normal? mines has been i just think its because there is no coolant.

Yes i noticed today that it was actually that hose that was leaking. It was leaking near to where it connects to the engine and where the clamp is. Should i purchase a jetta vr6 hose since the engine is a jetta vr6 or should i purchase a corrado hose to replace the hose that was leaking?
-
Thanks so much for the info, today i turned the car on and examined the hose from the pic, and i seen some air bubbles and fluid squirting out of the hose near to where it connects to the engine and where the clamp is, with that i believe the hose was just leaking and it just splattered all over. The coolant reservoir also seems to be empty. I think the issue is just the hose and because of that i want to just replace the hose and refill the coolant. My question when it comes to that is should i buy hoses for a jetta vr6 since the engine is a jetta engine or should i buy corrado hoses... no sure if both are the same or different. Also as for the car heating, the fans come on normally to my understanding, when i turn the car off a fan stays on for about 8-10 minutes then cuts off. Could it be that the engine was heating up just cause of lack of coolant?

Hello all i am new to this forum and new to VW's in general. I recently purchased an 1993 Corrado Vr6. The engine is a 2.8 and has approximately 90,000 miles swapped from a 1997 jetta.I have owned the car for about 3 weeks now and didn't come across any problems before. After filling the car up with gas today i drove it home (about 10 blocks) and noticed some minor white smoke coming from my hood. I then drove the car to a local tire shop to adjust my coilovers and upon leaving the shop i didn't notice the smoke any more. Then Again as i started to drive home from the shop i notice the smoke coming from under the hood again, but this time it was coming out a lot more. I opened the hood and inspected the engine and this is what i saw: As you can see from the pic, there some type of liquid that has been leaking. Im not sure if it is coolant or oil But i believe i found where it is leaking from: It looks like its leaking from a hose which is here: I don't know what hose that exactly is but it is located right behind of where you would pour oil into the engine. Here a pic of it: In that picture it is the hose on the right with the white zip tie around it. The liquid has dripped down the engine onto other parts, I think it is coolant but i'm not sure. The engine gets hotter than usual even thou the car is not being driven. No CEL Warning lights come on and no Oil warning lights have came on yet. What do you guys think the issue(s) might be and how should i go about fixing it. I'm worried the leak is coming from the head and not a hose but im not sure exactly how to diagnose the issue. Any info would be much appreciated since im new to corrados. Thanks for your time.
