I still have the door sills, but note they are the inside ones, one the inside of the door rubbers, rather than the outer ones covering the metal step

Hi, just had a look on VW Heritage and they are £54 each side - bloody rip off! But they are out of stock. They appear to be for all Corrado's. Looks like you can't get both of them anymore. Make me a sensible offer if you want them. Cheers. Dave

Yes, that's them!

So I'm looking to replace all of the ABS sensors and sensor rings. There are 2 different ABS sensors for the rear for sale on the internet, lengths are 1062mm or 1220mm. The question is what is the difference? Also, are there any differences on the fronts? Looks like there is only one type for sale. I am not confident the ones on the car are correct so don't want to just compare to those. They do work sometimes, but are not reliable. I've got a 92 K reg VR6 and would appreciate any guidance..... Cheers

PM me if you want to do a deal. I'm not out to squeeze the last £££ out of you as the price is not unreasonable Cheers David

Hi Would you take £400 delivered to Bath (c£350 plus delivery)? Hope this doesn't offend, but I will need to pay for a refurb on one of them. Cheers David

I don't really know..... I replaced the brake pedal position sensor, the main plug into the abs pump also had a poor connection (which was the biggest bugger to track down as it was so random) and then it seemed like the pump only wanted to prime when it was hot / has been switch in in the last few hours. It seems like it just needed to be used more so the pump would prime The light does come on occasionally when driving but can be reset by turning off and back on again, so I think a wheel sensor may just be dirty or something. This seems to be getting less frequent though I'll see how I go and then perhaps get the sensors done at some point. I've also got a spare pump....just in case..... After 2 years of restoring the car properly it's great just be to enjoying driving it.

Celebration time......first day after 2 years ownership of the VR6 where I haven't had the ABS light on at all - yippee I can finally enjoy the car I'll upload some photos soon. It's come a long way from the Mike and Ed days.....

Thanks guys. I've got an 2x2 connector but the vagcom just won't connect. No idea why My gut feel is Vince will be getting a call. I don't want the whole eulogy to be able how I battled with Corrado VR6 gremlins for most of my life 😃
-
Thanks both My car has the old 2x2 vagcom and I can't get it to connect (nor could 2 garages....or the tall guy on TV!) So I've got to go old school....or take it to Vince and let him sort it out! Thanks
-
My orange abs light is back......but now a bit random. I suspect a wheel sensor may be on the blink. They all give the correct static reading, so I'm going to check them whilst rotating the wheels However, if I need to replace them does anyone have a recommendation for the best place to buy them and which brand to buy please? There seems to be lots of variation in price (and I presume quality) Mine are only 2 ish years old but I'm not sure that great quality to start with Thanks

ABS Pump Plug - I think i've found the problem....
WheelerDave replied to WheelerDave's topic in Drivetrain
Amazingly, I think the ABS is finally sorted. So there were two issues I think: 1.the plug onto the ABS pump was not secure / was dirty, so cause random failure. This was cured after cleaning (WD40 contact cleaner) and securing properly. This was a bugger to trace! 2.the pedal position sensor was on the blink. This showed its head by the system not working until it was all warmed up, then worked fine. So first thing in the morning the light would stay on, but later in the day when the car was restarted it was fine. I had the sensor refurbed by Stealth - great job as always. It's still early days....but I finally appear to have stable ABS.... Thanks for the input above. Much appreciated. -
ABS Pump Plug - I think i've found the problem....
WheelerDave replied to WheelerDave's topic in Drivetrain
Interesting, thanks. I have changed the Pedal sensor for another 2nd hand one and its been better. But still has the same problem. I've sent my old sensor off to be refurbed and should get it back this week, so will see how that goes.... -
So, the ABS light issue is hopefully nearly at an end.... The light is on in the morning when I first drive the car. However, once its been driven a bit and then left for a while when I next drive the car all is fine. The ABS then works perfectly. Same thing then happens the following day, etc, etc. Sometimes it takes longer before it goes out. Slightly random. I have today I think found the problem. When the key is turned the light comes on, then there is a "click" from the ABS pump and the light goes off. All healthy. However, when I "wiggle" the ABS pump plug there is another "click" and the ABS light comes on. If I leave the plug along and turn the key is turned the light comes on, then there is a "click" from the ABS pump and the light goes off. Then, when I "wiggle" the ABS pump plug again there is another "click" and the ABS light comes on, etc, etc. I have tried "wiggling" each individual wire out of the plug to see if there is a break, but this does not cause the ABS light to come back on. It is only when the plug is wiggled. So it seems there is a bad connection in the ABS pump plug? Has anyone else experienced this? Any cure? The plug is a bit wet and grimy. I've tried WD40ing it and it does not seem to do anything. I'll try some electrical contact cleaner from Halfords and then let it all dry out before putting it back together. Any thoughts will be much appreciated as this is driving me mad!

Want - VR6 in midnight blue - manual
WheelerDave replied to misterbeck's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
Can you PM me pls? I wasn't thinking of selling, but might do. An absolute shed load has been spent on the car over the last c2 years inside and out and mechanically so it's spot on (with just 2 jobs to finish which I will do). All work has been done by well known specialists. It's black leather interior. -
