less of the MINI thanks dazzyvr6 as we've just bought one. OK styling might be not to everyones taste but the go-cart handling suits me fine  My vote is for.... The vauxhall tigra Why do the people who drive them even bother cleaning them :x

Bout £700 for a good set of original leather - seen 2 or 3 sets come up in last year

Finally another bristol based corrado signs up!! Garage choices - these are ones that I have used TSR in Bridgewater Graham Batt (VW/Audi independant) around back of Temple Meads Main Dealer in Weston TSR did a good job but weren't that cheap and I had some issues with their customer care so I won't be using them again Graham Batt changed my radiator for a very cheap price but he won't be doing that cheaply again! Main Dealer - good service but ££££ I also use a bloke who comes to my workplace - local mechanic who has done all the general stuff like brake pads/discs and wheel bearings. Very good prices and service but he isn't happy taking on anything more complicated. For the anticipated head rebuild and suspension work I am going to make the effort to take it to AMD (Bicester) or Stealth (?Southam) as these guys get consistently good write ups. Rob

28.8 mpg over the last 2000 miles according to the trip. Driving a mix of m'way, A roads and country lanes with an average commute to work of 13 miles. I never boot it before oil reaches 80 degs so most of the miles have been done without a heavy right foot.

Invitation to the (going to be) greatest Corrado database

Looks like the South of England are the most prolific at signing up or the saddist for having nothing better to do :) -
Off the top of my head I don't think the combined amp/aerial unit is that expensive although you can spend £125 on an aftermarket one that is meant to be much better. However a few people have fitted one of these behind the stereo and apparently this has solved the problem http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/focus.php3?partno=PC552 I don't know whether this works or not as I haven't fitted it myself

that's why this forum is so good - tip top advice :thumbleft: and as I have a four day bank holiday weekend I will sort it shortly.
-
That'll be a amp failure then. The aerial has a signal amplifier in the base. Either this has failed or there is no power supply to it. There should be an additional wire attached to the aerial cable that needs a 12v power supply (suggest that you give it a 12v supply that only comes on with the ignition unless you want a flat battery). If this doesn't work then you can get replacement aerials with amps but I think you need to take the headlining out to fit it. Other people will know more but that's my take on it.

Maybe Skynet has taken over my ECU and its gone "live". :robot: Has happened with my wife in the passenger seat - cue "who are you tooting at?"

£120 from TSR - who didn't recommend upgrading the other mounts at the same time

Knew mine wouldn't be the simple solution :( Thanks for the advice

Unlike the post on horn failure I have a problem with the horn sounding unexpectedly  . It seems to occur when indicating right or driving over a bump but not on a consistent basis. Any help appreciated At the same time my radio has developed a fault and turns itself off and won't come back on again. After a few minutes it works again. Head unit is a Blaupaunkt Casablanca. One day everything will work at the same time but i'll probably be 90 years old and the world will just have run out of petrol :(

Have the same problem - its worse when the car is warmed up - any help on where to squirt the lube would be much appreciated

This is by no means a comprehensive list but it will no doubt be added to Sunroof - they all break eventually but can be repaired without too much drama. Check slide is smooth and no evidence of judder on closure. Scratches in the paint are sometimes a sign of trouble Bodywork - check usual places for rust and evidence of wrinkling of paintwork post crashing. Good thing to check is sticker in boot adjacent to boot catch - if not present then may have had rear ender Tyres - alignment issues will cause abnormal tyre wear. Difficult to assess if new tyres just be put on Aerial - check you can tune into MW/LW - if not then amplifier in base of aerial may need replacing. Engine - VR's rattle on start up and can use upto 1l/1000miles of oil so don't let this put you off. However, regular oil changes (recommended between normal servicing) are vital. Signs of expensive things are smoking exhaust - valves etc., rattle when warm - cam followers, timing chain. Best to get someone who knows what a good VR sounds like to listen. Don't worry about high milers if well maintained there are some mint examples with well over 150,000 on the clock on this forum. Don't worry about early versus late - its mainly cosmetic and I personally find the early style more attractive Do get an HPI check Good luck and don't worry if you do get a baddun by mistake as the support on this forum will get you through most issues via the least wallet emptying route and you will probably have quite good fun doing it Remember this is a high performance 150mph sportscar - most tend to break at some point :( Rob VR6 132,000 miles 1992 K-plate (slightly less duff than when I bought it)

Campaign I've got an old style interior in my VR6 - it was registered on 8/92. It also has the monte carlo alloys that the campaigns have. I haven.t got my chassis number to hand but i suspect it is one of the earliest Rob
-
Where did you get that done as the price is bl@@dy good - I have been quoted about £1500 for all of that in the past :(

Brando Here's why I wouldn't get a Cobra fitted ever again Cobra Alarm Story HTH Rob
-
I'll hopefully make it along although sadly corrado-less as it needs one or two jobs doing. P.S. Darren if you are going to be there could you bring those dashboard blanking plates if you have any left. Thanks Rob

 - why not sell it on ebay for a crazy amount of money and buy yourself a holiday to the carribean. (Only slightly jealous that you've got the last one)

I really should read all the posts before making a wisecrack  From topic on vacuum hoses

Best update your tagline then

How much can you get out of a full tank?
vondribbley replied to vondribbley's topic in General Car Chat
Does the VR6 have a bigger fuel tank then? mine says 15 gal on it and I reckon on getting just under 74 litres in it from empty (=16.28 UK gallons) That means approx 28mpg which is about right -

errr.. I didn't have any problems with "dirty" dregs last time I ran out either  I REALLY need an indicator light My excuse this time was that I got cought on the A14/M6 going west and there were NO services - I actually ending up pulling into a disused slip road that was apparently for a service station until it got mothballed  -
454.4 miles before I had to call the AA for more fuel  Anyone know of a simple way to make up a low fuel indicator light to fit in the dash where all the blank LED's are :?
