1. Been dealing with a bucking issue with light throttle on my tdi motor in my corrado. swapped the front mount for a solid but it rattled everything so violently, and the problem is with the rear hydraulic mount not able to handle the motor its worse now that its running right and tuned. Thinking of buying the late style mk2 mount with the older style rear mount(199 165HD)not sure to go with the shore hardness or 55 or 65 compared to the standard if i go this route. Other option which is free at the moment would be taking the k frame off the 97 tdi passat i got chilling in the yard, i got the mount that would need to be bolted to the block to use the other mount in the tdi k frame but not sure if i can bolt the k frame directly to a g60 and use my control arms and steering rack that are on the g60 right now.
2. I am running the stock g60 motor mounts not sure if they are worn bad but i do get bucking if i dont give my car enough throttle in low gears and you can feel that engine moving hard back and forth, upgrading the turbo due to the old blowing blue and having mad in and out shaft play, so getting other parts as well. What is the normal upgrade path for the g60? forgot the vr6 mounts and tdi mounts match but not to a g60 almost bought the BFI stage .5 but looked at my car and something wasn't right. Any experience on the solid front motor mount or other upgrades?
3. Thanks for the replies i had other wheels on my car for a year and barely any camber wear same alignment and everything im thinking pulling the fender more(already rolled) after alot of reading i believe I should be running 0 toe but even at this height? and should try for 1 degree of camber but 2 at max? not sure how people post pics on forums anymore i think i can get away with less camber not sure how much thou, getting alignment Thursday when the new tires come in maybe i should raise it too to get it to fit with less camber. https://imgur.com/a/hpgEFO4
4. just changed my brake fulid and when i took of my front wheel i realized i've destroyed my new tires i bought in june just about 1k on them...i do have camber to get the 16x9 27 offset to fit under the fender and its lowered and i have alot of toe out. What numbers should i aim for to not waste my money. did need to keep alot of camber but toe mostly hearing that causes worst wear. Inside the fender there is molten tire from it doing something wrong nothing rubs which is nice, wish i took care of it in time.
5. Hello all I am currently running 16x9's with 205/45r16 which is too stretch and i enjoy driving my TDI corrado but the beads like to pop off when driven hard around corners. Also there is scraping on bumps, all fenders are rolled hard. Plan to get 225/50 for my dub rims, realize this will be worse in rubbing but better for driving the way i want. I have done fender flares to an mk1 rabbit before but corrado's dont look right with flares unless custom made or the reiger widebody(not in budget). My plan is to just cut strips in the front fenders raise it a bit and add metal in between and weld it up or cut off the whole bubble part add metal there. But in the rear wondering best options for the rear quater how to deal with the two panels where it could possibly be cut and welded up to give room and to help ewiden the rear. If you have any pics of what you've done or idea's on how to make it look semi nice in the end let me know, Thanks for everyone's time.
6. I had the circle cut out racing steelies barely messed the carrier with 25mm now I have D cut out diamond steelies makes it with a lot of space on 25mm will figure out how much it almost touches. How much are those, and do you have a link to a good supplier? Another idea is shaving the carrier bar down quite a bit would this cause brake failure under heavy braking? i do see alot of open faced mounts without the bar.
7. I keep trying on different rims and cant get them to fit due to the brake carrier being so close to the mounting hub i need spacers to clear it, i see most front calipers dont have such a big carrier that sticks out so far. wondering if Audi or a different vw front brake bolts up to an g60 hub and would fit rims that are 15's around it. need new pads and rotors and the rear caliper i had to rebuild, so switching the calipers, carriers, rotors and pads would be good. any suggestions?
8. I will order a new set the old ones, the rubber that sandwiches the LCA are crushed flatter in spots. Im really hoping its just the top mounts and not the coilover when i bought the car it was slammed so hard raised it up 10 turns on the perch which is pretty close to the top of the strut body hoping it wasn't too much height. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-assembled-by-ecs-parts/heavy-duty-upper-strut-mount-kit/357412331amy-kt/?gclid=CjwKCAiAtdDTBRArEiwAPT4y-043AGgMTY3v6dG-tcilIu9228h7oWp7khyrP6wyp8UwRleYkVKpTBoC6XQQAvD_BwE Thinking about getting these HD vr6 bearing, bushing, and nut. pulled the strut out and the spring seat does not rest on the bearing but the spring seat is 45mm 1.77 inches floating a 1/4 inch bellow the bearing pushed against the metal for the g60 bushing. the bearing also can be pulled in and out slightly. i dont have problems when turning only over small bumps this cant be where the noise is coming from could it or is it a bad strut if push the top of the strut while out of the car while holding the strut body it moves slightly back and forth but not side to side. Will a vr6 bearing seat on top of the 45mm spring seat and will the g60 top hat fit on top of the vr6 bushing? Thanks for all the help.
9. Almost have everything fixed on my 90 TDI corrado but any crack or uneven pavement makes pops or knocking sounds coming from the wheel area of the passenger side it started a while back quietly and passengers didn't really hear it now i feel it in feet sounded so loud on the way home tonight just rapidly popping. Thought it was my ball joint so swapped that last week(fixed my steering above 60mph) but still the popping remained. Also Ordered r32 bushings rear and stock front bushings don't think its that but i'll upgrade it. I am lowered on what i was told were H&R coilovers and thats what a part number said when i looked it up but they look like cheap ebay coils. i do have a gap from the strut mount top thing. with the car jacked up i can move the tire up a bit and watch the whole top mount go up past the car slightly and push the top of the tire in and the strut goes in slightly as well is this the strut mount going or do i need new struts? Don't know if i should be driving it sounds so bad.
