  1. ..or even on it's way out? It was rebuilt last by Jabba in Sept 2001 and has a 68mm pulley! Cheers
  2. So 40mm would be the best drop from standard height? I was told 60mm would be better?!
  3. I am wondering which rear lights to purhase that would best suit my Red 1991 G60. I really cannot decide between the M3 style, clear style or smoked clear style. Also where is the best place to get hold of a set? Any opinions would be gratefully received! Thanks! :)
  4. Hi, When I start up my car my idle is around 1000 rpm and it moves up and down. This usually sorts itself out within a few miles and returns to 750 rpm. Any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.
  5. Hi, My Corrado is booked in to have new shocks and be lowered in a week or so (I believe they recommend SPAX). The question is how low do I / can I go? My C is currently at standard height and runs on 16" wheels. I am also planning on get an RS style front bumper at some point in the near future.... I also live in an area that was the guinea pig for speed humps some time ago! Thanks in advance! :)
  6. Sadly my discount has a limit...... :(
  7. I work for Bridgestone even though my car is on a combination of Avon's and some dodgy budget stuff that the old owner put on. It might be time for me to use my company discount! :D They really are great tyres, particularly the Potenza's I have seen the work that goes into produciing them. I used to drive on Pirelli P6000's on my old car (Ford Escort 1.3, ahem) and was quite impressed with them also (although thinking about it they were hardly tested)!
  8. Would any VW dealer be able to get me one?
  9. Hi all, For the last two weeks my car has been cutting out a lot and then finally refused to start at all. Six garages could find no fault until my brother (under the telephone guidance of John Mitchell from JM Racing) bought a mulit-meter and tried to trace the problem electronically. He ended up looking at the ECU relay and found a break in the wire inside. He soldered it together and the car ran beautifully for 100 or so miles. That is until tonight when it refused to start again! I pulled out the ECU relay and put it back in, then the car started fine! Do you think I should purchase a new ECU relay? If so, any ideas where I can get one and for how much? Thanks in advance. :)
  10. Hmmm. Just took it to another garage who diagnosed it as being the distributor. Its getting worse. Couldn't even get all the way home as it just kept dying on me! Gonna replace the dizzy Monday and probably the coil as well. I'm missing driving it already!
  11. Just got car back from garage. He said it started and then ran and ran and ran! He could find no fault! Aggghh! It drove home ok. What am I to do? It's inevitably gonna happen again....
  12. My G60 is now in the garage having the ingition amplifier done. It cut out twice on the two mile trip and refused to start at all. I had to get towed to the garage by my brother in his J' Reg'd Ford Fiesta! How embarassing...
  13. For the last few days my G60 has been cutting out regularly and refusing to start again for a few minutes! It has happened at junctions and slow moving driving so far. Well tonight it has got worse. TWICE on my 15 minute drive home from work tonight it cut out again. First time at an island and wouldn't start for five minutes. The second time was on a bypass, I was doing around 50 mph in heavy rain in the outside lane when it just died on me again! I had lots of traffic behind me and an articluated lorry on my inside. I had to switch on my hazards rapidly and cut across the approaching lorry into the inside lane before coming to a stop. This time it was a good fifteen minutes before it would fire again. It just keep trying to turn over but not firing. Finally it got going again and I made it home. My brother took it into a local garage who feel it could be the ignition amplifier. They have booked me in for 8am in the morning. Has this happened to anybody before and was the ignition amplifier the cause? :(
  14. I didn't notice if I had the clutch dipped. Shows how much attention I pay to my driving! Ha! I will take it out for another spin and find out. The only other problem is I know absolutely bugger all about cars :( I am booked in at JMR on Sunday 31st October but I dunno if my car will even make it down there!
  15. Not having a good time of late with my Corrado :( Twice in the last couple of weeks I have noticed my car cut out whilst approaching junctions or traffic lights (I thought it was down to my driving). It started immediately after so I thought nothing of it. Today, whilst going out to get some lunch the car did it agiain only this time on a main stretch of road as I was doing around 30mph! I immediately put on my hazards and pulled over (with difficulty as the power steering wasn't active). For a few minutes I tried to start it but it wouldn't go. Just as I was calling my brother to come pick me up it started again! On the way back it went once again as I was going round a mini island. This was dangerous as again I had to wrestle the steering! I pulled over and it started up again first time! What the hell is going wrong??? I am supposed to be driving 30 miles to a works meeting tomorrow morning. HELP!
