-
ive been told to book the car in for the bodywork repairs and also to choose a new set of rims 8) only thing is i need some suggestions for possible rims. 16" and up to around £600 inc vat for the rims (not inc tyres)
-
yes i know it wud repair fine, however i didnt spend as much as i did on one of the best vr6's i cud find just so as it cud have filler put on it.
-
the focus had been used for promotional work advertising the rally. nah. 16's are where its at. big enuff to look good, small enuff not to adversely affect the handling well the camber is certainly out. had some quotes now. (not including the wheels) repair wings and bumper, repaint etc - £1000 or replace bumper and wings, repaint etc - £1863 this is also subject to further costs if there is suspension damage. the wheels are no longer available  replacement cost of those (inc tyres) is £950
-
took it for quotes today. one garage (not a cheap one either) was saying they wudnt replace the wings but repair them with filler !!!!!!!! I didnt spend a small fortune on one of the best corrados i cud find so the wings cud have filler put on them.

i beleive these are the offending objects

my car got hit this evening by a Focus WRC car. well a Focus WRC car on a trailer anyways. i was in the nearside lane, and they squeezed me into the kerb. needs 3 new alloys n tyres (so easier an cheaper to get a whole new set) new wing new rubbing strips new side repeaters new bumper tracking and the suspension needs looking at (prob nowt wrong, but i want it checked) oh and paint for some of the above. And i want the colour matching perfect. lets just say im not too happy atm

quick question do gavins looms uprate both the dipped beam AND the main beam, or are they just for the dipped beam?
-
Just so you know, Beemer is a Motorbike, Bimmer is the car! says who :-P this isnt america u know :-P

a decent set of springs and good tyres is sposed to transform an e36. exhaust, filter and either chip or remap will see you easily over the 300bhp mark. ur right in saying its no e30, but then its not sposed to be either. however some money spent on the above mentioned items (and possibly uprated front susp bushes etc) and u wuill find the car is a very good compromise. quick, fun and still easy to live with
-
I thought the first 5 gear ratios were the same as the non evo's, the 6th gear is just an overdrive for the motorways? :? nah. the evo model has def got higher gearing. yeah the vanos can fail on the evo models, better bet is the early e36 m3 the 3.0 if ur on a limited budget driving wise they are an awesome car.
