So got my electric windows working by removing the passenger switch and no I seem to have central locking that works when it didn't before. Except now occasionally the central locking doesn't work which will mean I can't get in to the fuel filler cap. Is there anything intermittent I could check I am wondering if I have knocked something and replacing the electric window fuse. Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So unplugged pass side window switch today - refitted relay and new fuse. Window seems to stay up. And central locking seems to have kicked in too lol! Anyway I guess that switch is knackered. Anyone got a spare? Is the ones that fit flush against the door (rather than built into the door pocket if that makes sense). The single pass side switch I'm after. Does anyone have part numbers for the 60 front driver side brake caliper? Or perhaps does anyone know of other vag cars with the same front calipers? I may consider a breakers if I can find one. One of mine is sticky. Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ok so im going with a low temp thermostat and also i have ordered (for the sake of £7 or so) the oil temp sensor to try and rule out dodgy readings. So i am really going to be left with radiator being at fault and/or oil cooler. Any ideas on testing the radiator and oil cooler - they are a bit more pricey to replace without knowing if its needed. Ofcourse i may just be paranoid and this could be the temps that car has always run at - i just know id rather it was cooler. Especially water. cheers

What other issues should I look for? Considering low temp thermostat and fan switch? I was looking for a oil temp sensor to try replacing that but can't find a part number. Radiator allows water to flow through east enough - tested when empty . Top and bottom hoses get hot too. How could I test the rad? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

On way home oil temp 110/112 on a very sedate a road. I'm going to replace the black water temp sensor to see if that makes a difference to readings. Any other help appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Folks, I am trying to get to the bottom of the fact my passenger side electric window goes down all on its own. When i bought the car it had a blown fuse above what looks like relay 90 (above the fuse box). I have replaced the window control unit with a spare, and replaced the fuse which allows the windows to work but the problem persists. The pass side window goes down (i put it up then it immediately goes down and very quickly blows the fuse). Could one of the switches be staying closed making the window go down? I will try and check wiring where it enters the door itself. Perhaps the relay? On reading up it sounds like that relay (90) is for fuel pump run on - has someone previously just used a spare relay kicking about? So many questions ! What number relay should be there? And where abouts should that number 90 relay actually be? Any help, as always, greatly appreciated. thanks paul

So all parts replaced so far - water pump, thermostat, rad fan switch, blue temp switch and heater matrix. New coolant in and seems to be circulating however any tips on ensuring i have no air in the system?? Also my water temp this morning (especially during warm up) was actually higher than oil temp? I think a new Black temp sender is in order? any thoughts? many thanks again

All back together now thank god! My cousin did help (when I wasn't at the car) and he removed the cables for fan control . Can anyone help confirms which one goes where? I put them on where I think they go but he fans are so crap it's difficult to tell if all the "doors" are working as they should ? On That topic can the fans be souped up? I've got the know how In the family so I think I'm ok with that. Also my car seems to have receipts for 2 rebuilds with very little miles done (jmr I think) so not sure why the noise? Plus the cash saved would be a bonus. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Folks - if anyone can help? I have now replaced (with some family help) timing belt/plugs/water pump , thermostat, rad fan switch , blue coolant sensor etc to try and make sure the g60 keeps cool. I wanted to do the final part and replace heater matrix so that whole (effectively ) cooling system was sorted. I have all dash components out. But now at the stage of looking for (as described in wiki) 3 nuts inside the engine bay - I can only see 2 really? I assume they hold heater box on and perhaps a "heater arm". Can anyone help with any description of where to look? Then it's just the matrix pipes to try and remove - the clamps are difficult to get at. Any help please? When I do get it out (and hopefully replaced) should I refill at radiator top hose? Any process to follow in refilling ? Many thanks again Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
