  1. I had 17s on my 16v. The acceleration was definitley effected, particularly under 60mph. Really didn't like them in that respect, but i think they were particularly heavy wheels.

It handled great with them, felt so secure and had so much grip,IMO better than the 15s.

If you've got a g60 or vr6, you may not notice the accelaration difference as much cos they have more torque?? Dont quote me on that though :)

  2. Dont know of a c fitted with these but a mates got a 40mm spax kit on his mk3 fiesta which handles amazingly well - almost as good as my c

If you've got a deep 90mm spoiler on the front, you'll definitley be needing a smaller 40mm (or 50?) one

  3. There's one on ebay for £5.54 + P+P. HeHe

I got one when they were £4.99. As everyones says, they're not the best - maybe cos the one manual covers so many VWs. Havn't used it yet but im sure one day it will come in handy.

Definitley worth £2, they do em in Milton Keynes Halfords

  4. Had a set of A539's & Goodyear F1 eagles, which I found were great in the wet...

Hey Rob, I got a pair of them uniroyls for mrs's car form Motech, not a bad tyre, how you finding yours?

Must of been thinking of an older model of yokos

Alrite Bally, im pretty pleased with them. Not sure if there properly bed in yet but compared to the old set (3 different makes  ) they're bloody brilliant - both in wet and dry. Excellent for the money IMO

You got some new coilovers and wheels then?

My brother always takes the p*** saying my car looks like a delorean

Well it was designed by the same bloke.

Ah, i seem to remember reading that somewhere -figures

I think standard corrados look way to high and spoil the great body shape. I suggested to my dad about buying a VR6 for himself, but think he was put off by the high stance. He said it didn't look very sporty

Doesn't seem my family like corrados much :(

  6. I've got a mate who has used both Goodyear F1s and Uniroyal Rainsports (i think) and says that the uniroyals are pretty much as good as the f1s in the dry and better in the wet. Fair bit cheaper too

  7. Bally, i've got G60 brakes on mine - just the brackets and disks with 16v pads. I'd strongly advise to get the calipers as well as it was a fair bit of hassle getting mine on. Bit of a bodge really it seemed, shouldn't really bodge brakes

Joby, I have Ate power discs with pagid fast road pads and there good...when warmed up. Coming off the motorway and trying to come to a stop can seem a bit scary  Before you go and buy fast road pads, think about what you use your car for. If say you do loads of motorway miles i'd say stick with normal pads.

    Thats just my experience anyway

  8. My head gasket went and i never skimmed the head. As you say there is conflicting advice as usual. Mines been fine ever since though but my gasket hadn't gone badly and she never overheated.

    Good luck mate! :D
