Look, here's a nice one! http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46558 Yep, it's mine. I've had a 126k mile mk 2 Golf GTi 8V and that engine was super smooth. My Corrado had done 138k miles and again the engine runs really sweetly. Mileage shouldn't be an issue as long there is decent service history. TC

Had a similar problem with my mk2 Golf - the switch is easy to test; remove and press the connector at the bottom with ign on/rev engaged etc. It could be that the lever in the gear box that pushes the switch is no longer making contact (as in my case) - I had to file down the switch bolt by 1mm (above the thread) so that I got an extra turn when the switch was bolted in and hence allowing the lever to push it to make the circuit - Anyway I thought it was a clever fix. I've changed the thermal fuse (56p from Maplins!) but it blew again after 10 mins use. So the resistor pack must be overheating due to load (or something). Will lube the fan and try my 2nd fuse. But if I can get a cheap complete unit then that may be a more permanent solution. I'll get the fan model number - then do some surfing. TC

Does anyone know which VW's the fan is shared with? Mine only works on speed 4 only. Have checked archives and replaced the thermal fuse but it blew again after about 10 mins use suggesting that the fan could be at fault (overworking and causing heat build up in the resistor pack). So, I thought I source a replacement fan. Thanks,TC

Glass Guide gives the following for 129k miles and excellent condition (ie the top trade price); 99S - 3180 99T - 3300 99V - 3360 or 3520 if it's a face lifted one. ...add a profit margin to get retail. Hope that helps,TC

Centre console's a bit loose and read that lugs etc may have broke. Want to pull it apart but the handbrake sleeve needs to be removed and I can see how remove it. Any ideas? Cheers, TC

Going to see this C. It's the red one on autotrader (can't add the link). Any opinions on what it's worth? Owners says everything works, full history etc. TC
