  1. you are certainly very good to do that and its great that you can I'm very useless also when it comes to car mechanics. one thing i do find about a lot of women drivers is that when they own a car...they automatically seem to get it into their heads that their car is the fastest and best thing on the road. And they then try to compete very dangerously with other cars. not saying all are like this but take a female fiat driver for example..she has just bought her new car and has been unwittingly ripped off by the dealer in someway (probably on finance). She is so ignorant that she doesnt know about the benefits of regular oil changes, checking tyre pressures weekly..etc then in discussion with someone else at work (car enthusiast) who owns a very decent car (lets say a corrado vr6 or golf mk2) she thinks hers is faster and will say "never heard of a vr6" and then adopts the attitude because she is ignorant of this..it automatically means its rubbish. i guess it goes inline with a general opinion of a lot of women having tunnel vision and not be able to see the bigger picture. Much like theres an opinion that men in general may not ask for directions if lost.etc.
  2. i like the bit which says The Corrado's sweet chassis could forgive a driver's lack of talent and make them look like a racing superstar. :D
  3. indeed i know...i have to prepare for that too. But i'm not going to let these things stand in my way of owning my dream car.
  4. thanks^^ oil changes and good quality oil are a big factor. can't stress it enough as well. I'll defo look out for a well looked after one. Going to get a magentised oil trap as well to fit to the filter. I have one on my escort. luckily i have a very good mechanic who is VW trained (and owns a vr6 golf and rado) and also one of the most honest, reliable people i've ever met so i know it will be in good hands.
  5. glad you've driven one as you can compare then. I agree the seats on escort are terrible and at times..feels like they are not bolted down properly.lol. Has no torque, and does look bad. Mines quite good on fuel...320 miles on a full tank. It has alot of benefit from the unichip i had fitted years ago. so far done nearly 90k on the escort, and only 2 things gone wrong..wheel bearing and icv.both cheap repairs. can't wait 2 own a rado.
  6. Mistrall, how does it feel driving your C? handle well? how about comparing it to my escort which has been lowered and polybushed? that may sound like a very silly question but please note i've never drive the lovely Rado, and only sat in the back seat, which was nice in itself.
  7. A lot of women are under the misguided impression they can drive badly, cause accidents because of their gender and can get away with it. there's countless stories where women even try to get out of parking tickets, speeding etc by trying it on with the police. eg: the model caprice
  8. when my best friend gets a car i'll be getting her to check her tyre pressures regularly. like once a week. Thats how i do mine or more sometimes.
  9. lol speaking of pensioners, i read an article in the news a few years ago about a pensioner who having bought his new hyundai getz, went to test it out. drove it off a hill or something like that, and it landed on top of a modified saxo that was parked in a sainsburys carpark (may have been tesco)
  10. hehe! a i am mattosmond. Around these parts (kent) that scene i described is common. luckily on weekends i'm in southampton seeing my gf. Much better and at least they can talk clearly. The girls are hotter too.
  11. In my opinion, not all women drivers are bad. But the most of the young ones i've seen driving FRENCH SHIT BOXES! drive dangerously and usually end up smashing into a bus while trying to drop off or collect their little illegitate child. They then cause lots of queue's of traffic and i have to wait because of them showing off too much and not able to take the bend at the right speed or whatever. not all are bad tho. But i do think they try to show off way too much...and sometimes they are even worse than their male counterparts.
  12. power steering pump problem? is the fluid the right color? not black i hope
  13. thanks i'll defo keep that in mind. are high mileage 130k rados safe to buy? even ones with new engines? rebuilds?
  14. thanks im thinking now the 2.0 maybe better for me after what i heard here. I will look after her. Even on my escort, i change the oil+filter every 3months, sparkplugs, coolant, brake fluid are changed every 12 months. pads are changed every 6 months or before if needed.
  15. :D now this is my kinda talk ^^^ :D i hope i can show the little tykes a thing or too when i get my rado next year.
