  1. Only a slight bit of arch rubbing on full lock (my C's lowered around 60mm though on koni coilovers). I didn't notice any difference in acceleration that I can remember. Cool, good to know. Thanks for very much! I may have to consider my original plan then :)
  2. Yeah that is PHAT! Looks like it has had the arches modded though. Is it yours? It's gorgeous!
  3. Oooo that doesnt look over sized at all! Very nice :) Do you get any arch rubbing at all? I know its quite minimal but how does having a larger wheel affect your acceleration? Is it notable?
  4. Yes indeed it is me :) I have some proper photos somewhere but I will post them up in the appropriate forum room when I find them. Gonna start looking for some deep dish 17's for the VR now. Maybe even go split rim... mmmmmmmm! :D
  5. Ok, 18's are out the window! I had a look at a few on Corrado's and yes I have to agree with a few of you here that they look a tad too big. Think I will stick with 17's :) Thanks guys!
  6. he he! Thanks very much! I was admiring yours yesterday :) That avatar is actually me in the suit! I decided I must have one a few years back and finally sourced a kit in the US. It came flat packed so I could build it to fit my frame rather than buying a finished one off ebay! Since finishing it, I think I have only worn it twice.. doh!
  7. Yeah thats what I was worried about! Cheers for your input guys. If anyone else cares to add some thought on this, I'm all ears :)
  8. Hey guys! There is a set of wheels that I might have coming my way fairly soon which I think will look the dogs danglies on my VR. Only prob is they are 18" and I have no idea if this is a feasable size to squeeze under the arches. ET 35mm with a 7.5J all round. Anyone ever had problems with 18's? Would it look over-wheeled? Cheers for any help guys :) Jon
  9. Hey guys, I don't suppose any one has the part number for the main hose that goes into the top of the radiator on a Corrado VR6 do they? Its that £80 one... ouch! Silly me forgot to write it down this morning before I got the train to work and I REALLY want to order the part today. I tried searching for it but with no luck! And VW won't let me order it with out the number despite knowing the part im on about!!!! Any help would be much appreciated :)
  10. From memory the pipe had give in it, but seeing as that is the one that has now split, I will have to replace it to do that test. Cheers matey :)
  11. Yeah that is what I was kinda thinking. I just get paranoid over such things, and after seeing the radiator like it was led me to think of pressure probs. Cheers
  12. Hi guys, I'm not sure if my pipes are just getting old or whether I have a bit of a pressure problem on my VR6. It is a '92 and has done 78k miles (just FYI loike) ;) It started about 4 months ago when I blew a hose pipe in heavy traffic. This pipe looked fairly knackered so I put it down to that. About 2 weeks later, the car started to over heat. I replaced the thermostat at this point and all seemed to be ok for a while but then it started to get hot again and blew another hose pipe going into the heater matrix. At this point the auxiliary water pump was making horrible grinding noises so I replaced this also. So a month or so on all was ok. The temperature sat around 90 while driving and climbed to 110 in traffic, but fan soon cooled this down. This is when the radiator developed a crack! On inspection, the top 3 rows had expanded to more than double the normal width. So one new radiator later, a full coolant flush out and a thorough hose pipe check, I thought it would be the end! Nope, 2 days ago, the pipe going in to the top of the radiator has now got a 2-inch split in it! Grrrrrrr! Is there anyway I can check the pressure? Any ideas or thoughts would be a great help. Thanks Jon
  13. Well now that I have the car, it is even better than I remembered  It is soo smooth to drive, I love it. There is a slight smell of coolant though so I am going to check that out ASAP. The wipers are ok as it goes but I can see your point and I think the Lupo GTi ones will be among the first mods.
  14. Drive it in the rain - your first "mod" will follow shortly afterwards. Standard Corrado windscreen wipers are crap. You'll soon be down at the dealers buying some new Lupo GTI wiper arms & blades. LOL. I probably will do that.. but having said that, they cant be as bad as my 1961 Beetle wipers  Those things are shite!
  15. Cheers matey.. yer the guy who went on Saturday offered £4300 but I got the impression Kim thought that was a bit cheeky. I am well chuffed. If my transfers go through tomorrow, and Kim is free, I will be picking it up in the eve.
  16. seanoVR, Yep it was Kim. I agreed on £4800 in the end. He was asking 5k. I thought it was a bit steep but after hunting about it is actually cheaper than most considering the mileage. What did you think of it? LOL I don’t know why I ask that as I have committed to buy it now :D Were you the guy who went on Saturday lunch time? If so, I liked your offer ;) but he certainly wasnt going to budge.
  17. Well I think I will leave it pretty stock for now. I will change the wheels eventually. I have a new headlight loom, AMD induction kit, and for some reason a MOMO steering wheel (not sure if I want to put it in) already lined up. :D When and if the exhaust rots, it will be a stainless replacement all the way. Then I will consider engine mods and chips etc. But for now, I just wanna enjoy it. Sure is dude. The guy selling seems tops as well. And yes it is the original exhaust in answer to your last question :)
  18. Yer, so I have heard. One of the guys in the office has one on his. Think we have a spare kit knocking about in the office.. must resist, MUST RESIST!
  19. Cheers guys :D Yer I know some Corrados can have problems but this does not appear to have any.. the sunroof even tilts AND slides   Getting some 17" wheels on it pretty soon, but that is it for now. I want to enjoy it stock for a while as I modify every car I have owned. I need a break from that so bought a car that is great as a stocker with lots of potential to beef up later on.
  20. Hi peeps, Just thought I wiould say hello to you all. I use quite a few VW forums but seeing as I get my Corrado this Thursday I thought I would join here and have a chat. This is the car I just put a deposit on: VR6 all stock with 70k on the clock. No rust, straight as an arrow as far as I could see. When I drove it I couldnt help grinning from ear to ear :) pics thumbnailed-vr6storm
