was that the strove induction kit by any chance ??
-
have to agree with that, i noticed that my acceleration and general performance of the car suffered after fitting the bigger inlet manifold. its likely i will be changing back to the smaller one next time i see one up for grabs

my electric mirrors stopped working on the day i bought my car (two years ago!!) its starting to get to me now and I want to sort it. I have checked all the fuses and they are all fine and I pulled the door card off to see whats going on behind there with the adjuster and it all looked ok (i think). Anyone been in a similar situation ? or got and idea what I should check yet? cheers

i had my jetex system fitted the other day and it was knocking a little bit, however it was fixed by fitting some tougher rubber mounts from powerflex i think. Now it doesnt knock and it sounds well nice 8)

I went up to the local rolling road place today to see what power my car is making as its been feeling a little gut-less on acceleration just lately. The figures I got were quite depressing. It was putting out 115bhp at full whack there is sod all tourque below 4500revs and the losses are phenomenal I managed 80 bhp at the wheels !!! despite having 143000 miles which is a lot I know there are no serious modifications to it other than exhaust, drilled air box and the 50mm inlet manifold from the mk2 golf. i am going to have the compression checked soon to see whats going on there. I have a feeling that top end will need a rebuild. So to get to my point any thoughts on why it could be so bad and whats the average price for a rebuild if that turns out to be the case?? cheers phil :( forgot to mention its a 1.8 16v

i just fitted a jetex system to mine (full stainless) its the only system i could find to fit a 1991 1.8 16v it sounds very nice too...
-
i started to strip mine off the other day as it looks a bit gash only to find it leaves a load of sticky hard to remove crap under there. woe is me.

How much does the conversion cost just out of interest ?
-
instead of this custom down pipe would the cat bypass pipe from miltek do the job ??
-
just had a look at the magnex site and their range starts from the 1992 models onwards. As I have a 1991 I appear to have dipped out. Same for mongoose. and jetex are cat back systems as well. bugger !!!
-
I heard that magnex are quite loud tho.

looking for an exhaust system for my 1.8 16v. can anyone with a similar car tell me what systems they have? was going to purchase a milltek one through a mates business but they dont do one for the corrados that dont have cat converters. Most of the manufacturers seem to favour the 2.0, g60 and vr6 models. or am i not looking hard enough?? all help mucho appreciado phil

if they have any left next month i know where my money will be going !!! :-)

You can't get an induction kit for a 1.8 16V! They're K-Jetronic and as such you have to keep the airbox as that's also the metering head! : stroeve motorsport do an induction kit for the 1.8. it is essentially a cone filter with a heat sheild on the engine side and fits under the fuel injection stuff where the air box is at the moment.

stroeve do an induction kit for the 16v its about 120 quid you can get them from eurotek
