The car is running great after the servicing and I've just put it through an MOT, so it has 12 months now. After a fair amount of deliberation I've decided to continue with the sale as I still need the garage space. I am going to relist my Storm on eBay with a realistic reserve. If anyone is interested on here, my asking price is still £5250. Please message me for further details. Cheers, Duncan Latest update: Storm asking price reduced to £3950 -

Why not just keep the car, sounds like you really enjoy it and it seems you are having a good time conversing with the forum, rolling road, servicing etc. From first hand experience as with many other owners on here selling a Corrado seems like a logical decision at the time but afterwards there's gaping hole in your soul. Funny you should say that! It will be interesting to see if the performance has improved after the servicing, I'm hoping for 175 - 180 BHP and yes I am thinking of keeping the car because if I sell it, I know I'll probably never find another like it. New paper air filter, new fuel filter, new NGK plugs and red 8mm performance leads, new oil filter and oil change and a tank full of petrol with one dose of redex later..... Up 10 bhp from 163.5 to 173.5! I think that's good considering the 310000 mileage! The car feels much more responsive now. Cheers everyone. Duncan -

Good luck with the sale mate will make a nice car for some one, the other option is a terra clean that'll up the power again closer to standard. I've done the redex and got hold of a K&N cleaning kit yesterday so the air filter is clean with the newly applied K&N oil now ready to go back into the car this morning. Next is the oil filter and oil change followed by new spark plugs and leads. -

163, is that at the wheels or corrected to flywheel figure? It tested as 163.5 BHP @ 5645 revs at the flywheel with 180.3 lbft @ 4097 revs. Please see the newly added graph data in the photo album for more information. -

Thats quite a loss and certainly requires some work whether internally, fuel, spark, or all of the above. It's lost compression over the years but still a good 163.5 BHP, Cheers, Duncan -

Nice Storm however it would be highly unlikely anyone would pay this price given the milage and cost of factoring in a VR6 engine rebuild. Not to mention other areas that may not be up to scratch. Still 310,000 miles is brilliant and now makes me think mines a baby. Thanks for your comments virtuoso23, I have had the car Dyno tested on a rolling road this afternoon. It tested as 163.5 BHP @ 5645 revs with 180.3 lbft @ 4097 revs. Please see the newly added graph data in the photo album for more information. -

Or is the one that sold on the 14th for £1550? I think the highest bid before I relisted with the additional interior and engine bay photos without the buyitnow was £1550 -

Is it on eBay for £4250? Yes this is the same Storm, I originally listed it on eBay with a buyitnow price of £4250 for 7 days. I then decided to end it early after 2 days and relist it for 5 days with photos of the interior and engine bay added with no buyitnow so as to let the auction run. -

Trouble is Duncan, yours has one of the highest mileages we've seen. Without any engine work documented that's what will put almost all buyers off. Whilst I wish you the best of luck, I don't think you'll achieve anywhere near your asking price. Near mint lowish mileage cars are going for what you've advertised as on the private market, it's the dealers that are asking the silly money. Hi Sean thanks for your comments, yes it is high mileage but mostly motorway miles as I've mentioned in the advert. The car has been well looked after and hasn't required any engine work. The pricing guide gives an estimate for a good Corrado VR6, unfortunately it doesn't mention the limited edition Storm. This price of a good VR6 is the closest I could find as a guide to an asking price, it's only an estimate and I think it's a good starting point. Today I had a rolling road dyno test done on the Storm, 163.5 BHP @ 5645 and 180.3 lbft @ 4097 revs, see the Dyno graph in my album for more information. -

Good luck if you can sell it for that price.... Thanks for that delfinis38, it's an opening asking price, I'm hoping to get a few offers. I've just brought the Storm out of winter storage; there were a few minor issues, starter motor sounded a bit noisy, dry gears I think so replaced with a new Bosch type yesterday, replaced the rear Pirelli P6000 tyres with a pair of Uniroyal rain sport 3's to match the front tyres as well. There's been a good response on eBay, hopefully there's some interest on here too. Here's a link with a guide price in 2014 for a good VR6 as £8000 - £9000. https://www.vwheritage.com/blog/2014/12/05/vw-corrado-buying-guide/ Cheers, Duncan -

Typically for car sales, we like an asking price please. Thanks. Hi Jim, thanks for the advice, I wasn't sure about the price when I posted the advert, so I thought asking for reasonable offers would be OK. There has been a lot of interest for the mystic blue Storm on eBay so I think an asking price of £7250 o.n.o is about right and go from here. Regards, Duncan -
This car is the top of the range VW Corrado Storm 2.9 VR6 190 bhp in Mystic Blue. It has done 310,000 miles, mostly motorway driving with 19 Service stamps and has been well maintained by a VW specialist garage for the last 15 years in my ownership. It was first registered in August 1995 and has 2 former keepers; I’m the third after the original owner followed by his company (1995 – 2002). Supporting documentation includes MOT certificates, service history and many invoices covering the maintenance. All original sales brochures, specifications, wallet with handbooks, & service schedule. The Car is a standard Storm specification including discrete Storm badging, active spoiler (working), Sunroof (tilt only), immobiliser, BBS Solitude Alloys, Black Leather upholstery, front heated seats, air conditioning (needs servicing) with a K&N air filter, Milltek exhaust, Watling engineering tow bar and Alpine stereo with CD Changer. The car has been stored in a garage over the winter and has a current MOT to June 2018. I have advertised this elsewhere and it is currently ( March 2018 ) on eBay as well. My asking price was originally £7250 now updated to £5250 o.n.o.
