thanks v much for the prompt reply :) can go tint my spare lights for my sisters raddo then. cheers
-
anyone know if the mk 1 & mk 2 corrados have the same rear light clusters? some other bits had small modifications but not sure if lights were the same. cheers
-
cant remember & dont have corrado anymore to have a look for you BUT be careful as they can be delicate & VW will charge a fortune for the new unit. you could buy a second hand one from a breakers from a corrado or a passat but u have to make sure u get a good one or u will just have same problems.

that sounds about right to me. i just had to replace one of mine as it had a kink in it & was real stiff. worked perfect after that.

anyone seeking a new Bowden cable for their heater direction controls??? i have a new one sitting in my garage that i never got round to fitting & i have now sold my corrado & forgot to give it to the new owner. will put it in the "parts for sale" forum. £10 posted thanks

ah great! my heater only works on setting 4 too.

ITS ALIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!! Damn mechanic put the new dizzy on wrong so timing was all to pot. sorted now tho. woo hoo
-
still not running properly. mechanic thot there was something wrong with the exhaust that is choking the engine & hence losing power. another suggestion i got was that the CAT has been removed to make way for a straight thru s/s system & it just doesnt like it. has been known that performance exhausts & air filters can cause a drop in power OR even NO power in some cars. Anyone else removed their CATYLITIC CONVERTOR???

my corrado died last friday, was driving to work & started losing power in 4th gear so tried 3rd & second then it just cut out all together. AA man came to the rescue & said the distributer was f***ed so he towed me to a garage. My mechanic has replaced the dizzy & it was running fine til he took it for a spin. He's saying theres no power then a rush of power comes then theres no power etc etc........ any ideas fowks??
-
asked the VW guys what it could be & they said if its leaking up the outside of the shaft then its a seal that costs about £7 but if its goin up the inside of the shaft & into the cap then its a case of replacing the whole distributor for about £94 + someones time to do it (dont fancy tackling that myself). cheers guys
-
gettin a bit confused now. :? so what is it then? a seal within the distributer cap? OR a seal between the engine & D-cap?
-
ok. thanks for you help
-
havent really noticed. only had it a couple of weeks & b4 that i had a 306 diesel so compared to that anythings got plenty of power :) took my mate out for a spin last sunday & it had plenty of power with no flat spots then.
-
oh, you must have just posted that one b4 i replied. :) is that the most likely cause of the problem then? thanks
