I cannot believe how badly the people were describing how to corner properly "begin braking as you approach the turn. get down to 30mph or so and enter the turn. depress the clutch, release brake, coast through the rest of the turn, killing your speed down to 25mph via the natural effect of cornering. " What the hell was the guy who wrote this thinking

im not to fussed on modding, I'm just after something thats fun to drive quick and pretty reliable. I'm not expecting toyota levels or reliability as i know that i'll be buying a car thats at least 10 years old, however i dont want to be going back and foreward to the garage getting it repaired every week

Its been a lack of money, only finished Uni in the summer. Now the money is rolling in its new car time, the only other car i was considering was an Audi coupe, Im gussing most people here would go for a Corrado

It was from churchill with 2 years NC and with a clean license, there is probably somewhere cheaper but i use that as a reference. That car looks pretty dam nice, will have to start saving, Anyone want to by a yaris? :D

I was think of spending around £3.5k on the car itself and done an insurance quote of £920 for a 2l 16v fully comp which is reasonable and only £300 more than im paying now. I guess that common sense is the key to all this, also would i be better off getting a standard un-modded car so to avoid bodge jobs?

Im fed up with my slow car (1 litre toyota yaris) and decided its time to change. Ive always liked them and think its worth investing in a future classic. Ive read the buying guide and found it really usefull, however i wouldnt mind some input on day to day running. It'll be my only car and be used every day prob doing about 15k miles a year. 1)Is there one model which would suit me? VR6 sounds good but expensive to run??? 2)Best place for servicing? I dont know much about cars at all and i would have to take it to a garage, any recemdations espically near derby 3) most of the cars around seem to high milages, im not too bothered about the milage on its own it just i dont want a ex boy racer mobile thats done 100k hard miles (mine has done 90k but thats all motorway miles). 4) wheres the best place to find one? Looked on the autotrader site and the choice was limited. Any suggestions would be greated with a :D. cheers

I know this is likely to sound stupid and is slight off topic but is there much difference between the petrol from different places and between regular / super unleaded

Normally i drive a Yaris (dont laugh) so the slamming on the breaks routine wouldnt work as well in that. If anyone asks I saw a rabbit in the road and had to brake, just so happened to be perfect timing to slap a chav.

It was the only time ive every had any type of road rage, I think ive got it all out my system now. Thanks to the welcome to the forum when I get my C i'll be asking lots of stupid question as i dont know a lot about cars but i know that i do need to get my hands on a Corrado.

Hi everyone new to the forum and havent got a Corrado yet. Ive had dealings with some chav scum in derby. I was driving in my dads red V8 Landrover and Mr chav in a crappy pale blue nova came razzing up behind me, landrovers are not the fastest of car although the V8 has some poke and i really couldnt be bothered to try and thrash a big unstable car. They started to do the usual trick of backing off the screaming up to the back of you and hitting the breaks. after 3-4 times of this happening i was getting pissed off, knowing that i am driving a tank i decided to have a bit of fun. they backed off again and i could see them thrashing towards me in my mirror and this time i hit the breaks. They went into the back of me with a big crunch, wanting some real revenge i put good old Landy in reverse and pushed them back a few metres then pulled foreward. i got out to a hale of abuse and threats, when they saw the size of me (17 stone rugby player) the threat turned into moans. the best part was i drove half way home with his from bumper attached to my car. Total damage to the landrover was £3.70 for a new rear fog light cover, the Nova looked in a bad way the front end looked a bit crushed and the radiator was leaking. HA HA HA chav scum
