Any 'how tos' on doing an ignition switch on a rado vr? Or is it a case of pulling the whole column apart to get to it...? Need to do it soonish for my mate as he gets dodgy looks as he starts his car with a screwdriver to the new switch!!

He is actually the 2nd guy to write one off in this country. a Saudi Arabian guy wrote one off when he clipped a bus last year october. The car was up for sale as salvage for £450,000. Raj @ Ns racing told me about it and showed me the pictures. I will try and find the link to the advert and post it up.

As above guys. I am now running a 2.9 bottom end as i had my 2.8 block rebored with forged pistons to 2.9 spec. I bought a metal head gasket for a 2.8 but as the bore size is now slightly larger, will i need to change the head gasket (i think i will :roll: ) to 2.9 spec? Is there a company that make an o.e head gasket in metal. I dont really want to go for a spacer gasket as the comp has been lowered already due to the forged pistons. Cheers in advance!

Cheers for that crasher. Ive got the corrado at the momment, and its killing me that this car wont start especially as ive done this conv. in mk2's many a time! Will try that tomorrow.

Thats what i bought, but i requested that he done a slight variation on it though and it doesnt look too bad once its bolted up to the engine....

Where can i get the above to convert my schrick obd1 inlet manifold to obd2? I remember seeing a guy selling these on ebay some time ago, but as per usual, i never paid it any attention....Doh! :roll: Any help much appreciated!!

I (cough) used to work for them, but left after 7 months because i wasnt happy with how they wanted me to fit alarms, example... vehicle has alarm already installed into it which isnt working, i get sent down to fit new alarm, im told to leave that alarm in and 'chuck' in the new alarm in less than 2 hours (cat 1) No.no.no!!! Kept having arguments with the bosses over time fitting alarms and in the end i told them to stick it!! I have a motto which has gained me alot of clientele over the years, it is 'work on any car as if it was your own' Nuff said!

Im doing a 'lil modification in my engine bay which will entail me removing the big round plug off the loom and re-fitting it. Do any of you guys have a schematic diagram of the pin location and colours of wires? Obd1 and obd2 style if possible please. Ta!! :D

Is that the same technique for the mk3 vr? Ive got to do my neighbours tomorrow. Its so much easier in a mk2!!

I had vibration issues when i fitted my vf-engineering mounts (all 3) these lasted for about 3 weeks until they bed in. After that, they were fine, and my engine is now SOLID!! Give it a week or so and it should be fine!

Where can i get a sealed battery from as im going to put my battery in the boot and ive heard some health and safety jargon recently about normal batteries needing venting, and apparently Mr Plod can do me for having a standard battery in my boot!!

Where can i get mk2 gti brake pipes (the metal ones that run from the master cylinder to each wheel and across bulkhead) from? Im freshening up my engine bay and i want to get a brand new set as mine are now bent and rusted, etc!!

Need to know paint codes for the mk3 golf colour concept (blue) and the audi rs2 estate (blue) Need to match a colour and ive whittled it down to one of the above 2 cars. Cheers!!

Heres the scenario... Got the exclusive use of a 320bhp+ stage 3 s/c vr6 for the next week or so (got to do a few leccy bits on it) Disarm the alarm this morning to move the car and drivers door will not open, even though it is visible unlocked. Thought that the door might be frozen (due to the freezy weather) so i sprayed some de-icer round the door frame.....still no joy. Tried to open the door from inside...still no joy!! Popped of the door handle surround to see if the rod was still connected to the interior handle....it is!! Aaaargh! Now how do i open the door to repair whatever is broken (suspected door catch) without breaking a lovely leather highline door panel. Any help would be appreciated because i cant deal with climbing over front seats to get to the drivers seat (im not exactly skinny for those who know me!! ^o) Many thanks.

Update! Yes the car has been found. Still in one piece (less a blown clutch) Many thanks to all who were on a look out!! :)
