Its a 1995 vr6 storm. Recently the belt tensioner seized and through the belt off, but replacement parts got her running again.

Thanks for the reply guys - I hope it is something simple, I phoned up VW and quoted a camshaft position sensor and they told me they had an impulse sensor - is this the same thing? Dave

Hi, Car: Corrado 2.9 VR6 Mods: Miltek Exhaust Fuel: Shell Optimax I put my car on the rollers yesturday and the Max Power at the flywheel was 160BHP@5850RPM. Now as we all know this should be more like 190BHP. Doing the Math: 190-160 = 30BHP Loss. Now the car has done a few miles and I would expect a 10-15BHP loss but 30 is too much - something must be wrong. Looking at the power curve it climbs up the rev range until it gets to 5000RPM, it then dips and then climbs again - very odd and not right. The other interesting thing is the Co level its 0.00/0.01 even at idle (I've never had any trouble getting it through the MOT). I suspect its some kind of fueling problem but was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas as to what they think it might be. Many thanks Dave

surely the best filter would be no filter - as there would be no air restriction

Although the corrado 2.9 VR6 produces more BHP - isnt it alot heavier than the Golf?

Whoops, I think I opened a can of worms here... However I would like to say my piece in full. I like driving. I do alot of driving and try to drive better the more I drive. However I am not perfect (no one is) and throughout my driving life I have noticed a significant decrease in driving standards (last 8 years). I am not exactly sure why this is, one reason for it could be that people have less time nowadays. I am a beliver in most of the highway code and generally stick to it (although now and again I like to open my C up a bit ). I find it amazing how 'other drivers' have a complete disregard for the highway code and other road users. BMW drivers seem to be major culprits - but then maybe there are just alot of BMWs on the road? nevertheless about 90% of them think they own the road. Paul - yes, like you I get some anus who wants to race me everyday. I am learning to ignore them. I could go on all day... Happy motoring.

Yeah its a great car, I have just clocked up 188,000 miles and touch wood shes still going strong. As for pictures well believe it or not my car was apparently featured in a Top Gear Magazine I found it on http://www.vw-corrado-club.co.uk/ I was amazed to see my car there - although the number plate is now different. Goto http://www.vw-corrado-club.co.uk/ Click the 'The Corrado Link' an then click the 'What the media has to say' link. Scroll down until you see the corrado going sideways! with the plate: 1555 RH. I have got me a green vr6 storm, with a miltek exhast (which has an annoying rattle at low speeds) but the orignal exhast was rotting fast, H&R springs with adjustable AVO shocks, some 17" alloys.
