'Wanted' shots of The Purple Peril
The Leningrad Cowboy replied to The Leningrad Cowboy's topic in Members Gallery
It's gone. Flogged on eBay after a head gasket went and it got mouldy. Still, £960 isn't bad. Hopefully it'll look good when it's restored - Pete at Dubbers Sorts VWs (http://dubberssportsvws.co.uk/default.aspx). It's been emotional. -
HELP! VR6 Head Gasket Replacement
The Leningrad Cowboy replied to The Leningrad Cowboy's topic in Engine Bay
Ok - spot on, I will. I think I've found somewhere who can do a good job as well - I guess time will tell. Thanks for your help. -
Has anybody had a VR6 head gasket replaced (and skim) by anyone in the Bristol area? I'd appreciate some recommendations as I've struggled to find anyone. Associated costs would also be useful if you have them. As part of the job, I was intending to get the chain tensioner done. Any other bright ideas to get done at the same time? Thanks in advance for your help. Just spent £700 on the bugger getting through the MoT before this happened!

Uprated headlight loom fuses? what ya got in there?

My dipped lights gave up on the country roads of France, so I had to tail my mate in his Karmann Ghia at about 5m behind to have any chance to see where we were going! I fixed it up by disconnecting the full beam bulbs and then locking the stalk on, because the dipped still worked with this. Got back to UK and swapped it back - nothing. Turns out the relays had both gone. Got them here - closest thing to a part numbers are: RLP/4-12 (12v 40A) both, made by Nagares, but I don't know who makes the new ones. -
Corrado-ville! Small town - Cs everywhere!

I reckon there are about 10 in Brissle, a city of 300,000. I don't go south of the river much, mind! :2gunfire: -
My Corrado Project.... Here goes i'm on the ladder

Great colour, it's looking good. Is that a full-sized spare in the boot there? I thought all Cs had space savers. Or is that just VRs? -
It does sound good, and different to mine (which is standard). There must be induction or exhaust tweaks?
-
Obviously a lot of money, but that's as ugly as sin. Yuck.
-
Looking good, nice colour  Don't you scrape your chin on those SE London speed bumps?
-
What's wrong with putting two of each on each side of the car? If they're different sizes, just adjust the suspension by an inch on the side with the smaller wheels. That way, you'll never get bored - park facing one way up the road and then when you get bored, just drive the other way down the road and park. Failing that, I prefer Speedlines. Are yours the original colour? They look different from mine, but then mine are pretty dirty, I suppose!

A guy at work deliberately calls it a Scirrado, which annoys the hell out of me, but of course I don't show it! When giving a mate of mine a lift last week, he comes out with 'I didn't realise this car had so much poke'. Well, he does ride a pushbike everywhere!

Had she been tampered with?

I guess it's there to show when a bolt has been undone, right? I wonder if it's just normal paint in a bright colour.

If you don't let it set cookies, it won't do that. Or use a different machine, obviously. Try this: http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/d ... ce=AFFIS14 From pipelinecard.org I had a search, and my usual £470 was as low as £260. Renewal due in a few months, so quids in!
