  9. I'm looking for one of these super rare 1:24 Revell models (Not the cabriolet), first person to find me one gets a big kiss :D I've found a Cab and a Rallye but the guy wants €120 each
  10. I was thinking that the VR's longer wishbones would counter the drop link problem, the mounting hole seem's further out than the golf's.
  11. Hi all I brought some eibach anti roll bars for my Golf G60 some time ago, but I never got around to fitting them. Now that I have decided to 4X4 the G60 and won't be able to use the ARB's, I was wondering if I would be able to put them on the VR (Raddo). What I need to know is, are the VR6 & G60 front arb's the same size length, shape etc (I know the VR's is thicker) and if they are would I be able to drill & tap a thred into the end of the roll bar, so that it can be mounted to a VR. Any ideas? DAZ

  13. It does owe him a few £'s were lucky to have a mate with a body shop or it could have been even more. He's running about 290/300 @ 22ish psi, we got just over 150 out of it on the nurburgring on the way back from worthersee :D I've not got much pics of it really but here are a few.
  14. Theres a meet on the first monday af the month in westbromwich, I not sure what its called now but it used to be the pochers pocket on brandon way. Where's your car?

  16. most of my car is at my mates bodyshop in Great Barr, your wellcome to come and have a look once its all back in one piece ( there's not much to see at the moment. Plans have slightly changed, the once standard engin rebuild has gone in a different direction :) I need to be able to see off my mate 300 bhp 20vt MK2, you might know the car as he's in Geat Barr too (black mk2 Reg : D4RK L) Keep in touch (PM) and we'll hook up some time. 17. As expected by many it is not going to be ready for when I leave for Worthersee ( 4 days time :D), a number of things have led to a virtual stop in progress.:( I am determined that this will not turn into another project Golf G60 and not get competed, so as soon as I am back from Austria I'l be back on it.:doc:
  18. I need to get some extra wheel clearence on the VR (wheels are sitting too far out the arches) so I was thinking about going narrow track on the front to get the extra 8mm either side, I was just wondering what I NEED to change, I was thinking, Wishbones & ball joints, track rods & ends, ( or if the adjustment is there, shorten them this way) Will this work? or will I need to swop driveshafts, hubs etc What makes the VR track wider?, is it just the wish bones or a combination of bits (hubs, ball joint etc)
  19. Been having loads of problems with different area's of gettin the car up and running, engine, RUST  it not looking good for worthersee but I'm still gonna crack on with it, as you never know what can happen More updates and Pics soon. DAZ
  20. Just had some bad news to throw a spanner in the works  I got in touch with Rob (engine guy) at about 9pm and he said the bottom end was worse than I'd thougth, there is excesive ware and it might not be able to be rebuilt   . (Can be fixed but not cost effective) He said it looks like the oil pump had given up, leaving the crank shaft, con rods and everything else to grind away at each other , with 1mm of play in some places  So now I need to find a 2.8 block to rebore to 2.9 and rebuild using my 2.9 pistons, New oil pump of course
  21. Here are a couple of pics of yesterday afternoons adventures. *Gearbox cleaned ready for painting, *All threds, brakets and unwanted other bits removed from chassis legs and suspension turrets. *Plates cut for chassis legs.
