Yeah, I always fancied Carmonas but with the wide track on the VR plus the ET15 offset, I had to have the rear arches redone. Wanted the shape of the arches as standard looking as possible and they came out great. They are about 2.5 inches wider although you wouldn't really notice. 8)

Cheers C488ADO! I'll certainly look into those. Is that the usual route people go down because I was chatting to a mate of mine yesterday and he says MK2 frames are the way to go...or is this an old skool approach?

Hi Guys, I'm currently re-trimming my car interior and came accross some Porsche 944 front seats that were going cheap so I had to have them :D Does anyone know which frames I can use to mount the seats other than destroying my current front seats and using those? Cheers, Brad.

Hi Guys, Well, it's been a long time since I bought my pride and joy and for one reason and another I've never had the time or the money to really get my teeth stuck into restoring the car to the standard I would like. So after hmmm, lets see....5 and a half years, I've finally decided to start a thread for the Corrado... First things first, shes a 95 VR6 with 90k on the clock. I've done a whopping 25k of that myself!! :| Over the last few years I've gone through one top end rebuild, a gearbox rebuild, and a parts list as long as...well, a corrado service book! All for a good cause of course :) Back in 2008 I had the rear arches flared, by non other than Mr.Denton at Stylehaus (which was a top top job). On went the 9J's and away I went...Then the rest sort of came to a halt. Plans for the next year or two is a full interior retrim (which I've kinda started already. Hoping to do a diy job on this. I'll be posting some work in progress pics as I go) and a Turbo conversion (probably get stuck into this in the new year when the weather gets warmer). This is a couple of years old. Since then, she now has new fogs and indicators, all red rears and a passat moonroof. All red rears on at the moment. The OEM tail lights fit sooo much better! 8)

Hi mate! Yeah, my bro lives just outside Padiham so very likely. I remember seeing you in Burnley a few years ago. It's strange how me and a mate where talking about you only last week. In fact, I think you might know him. Dave Lamb from Accy?? I've just fitted a brand new set of fogs and signals so he was telling me you do the laminex stuff. How's the rado going? You still got it these days? Brad.

Hi Guys, The time has finally come. Rattling noises in first gear :( Does anyone know any good transmission specialists with a good rep in the Lancashire area? Also, what would you do.....gearbox rebuild or just straight box swap? Cheers, Brad.

Hi guys, Thanks for the replys! I've finished refurbishing the wheels and have decided to go with just a wax coating and see what happens. Like you said 'VR6 South', lacquer and polished alloy is not a good combo. Here are couple of photos of before and after. As you can see, the dishes were originally lacquered and water had got into the cracks. Had to start the sanding stage with 40 grit paper it was that deep!
-
Thanks guys! I'll go with just waxing it for now and see how it goes. I suppose this means I will have to make sure I clean the car more often to keep on top of things... I think the reason why they were in such a state in the first place was becuase the polished dish was lacquered. Just another 3 wheels to go now! :pale:

Hi Guys, I'm currently in the middle of refurbishing my alloy wheels. They are Kerscher Carmonas with the deep dish. Over the last few years, the lacquer has chipped and water has oxidised the polished dish. I've got the dish back to a good polished stage and am ready to seal the wheel. Does anyone know what type of lacquer to use (any specifics for wheels or will normal body paint lacquer work) and how many coats I should be putting on? Cheers, Brad.

Had mine done at PSI last time around and they did a good job on a top end rebuild. Bit far to travel for a service though. One place I can say to avoid like the plague is Racetech at Burnley. I spent £800 on a service there only for my wheel to fall off on the motor way a few days later! I'll be booking mine in at awsome in a couple of weeks. Ony heard good things from them. I would expect they may be on the dear side though...

Hi Guys, Thought I'd share some pics with you as I've finally bitten the bullet! FK Konigsport suspension Kerscher Carmonas: Front 7.5 x 16 with 195 Toyos - Rear 9 x 16 with 215 Toyos Rear arched flared and smoothed inside.
-
That would be great if you can. Can't wait to bin these sh1t rims I've got on the C at the mo! Cheers for all the help guys! Think it's time to take some pics myself and get them in my gallery.

M15 VW - Not sure how low I want it yet. Ordered some coilovers last week so should have a better idea once they're on. Did you get the fronts rolled? Was going to go 215/40/16's all round cos I don't want to over-do the stretch. Would 205's make a lot of difference? double-6s - Will do mate. How long it's guna be before I've saved up enough, I don't know. Might have to sacrifice a few nights out!!
-
Theres always one with a sensible idea! :) You know what it's like when you get an idea in your head. Now it's becoming a challenge! Sods law that all the rims I like are in 9's and 7.5's. Cheers for all the help guys. Ill post some pics when I finally bite the bullet. Hopfully soon! Brad.

300 Squids per side???? Think my minds made up! Will go with 9x16 rear and 7.5x16 up front as these wheels only come in et15 for the 9's and et20 for the 7.5's. Then all I have to do is find someone to do the arches for me. What would you say is a safe amount to grind off hersites? And how did you do it? Loving that car of yours by the way dude! Deep dish wheels look sooooo nice on a C! 8)
-
Cheers again Ben, I might just do that. I'll make sure I pm herisites before I go buying the wheels. Mate of mine has a garage nearby so I'll probably ask him if he knows good body shops close by. Would it cost a lot more to have the arches flared? and would it look sh1t if I just had the rears done? Cheers.
-
Cheers Ben. Yeh, don't really want to chance the fronts rubbing. Did you have the arches rolled then? and did they still catch at all? Just ordered some new Konigsport coilovers so hopefully I'll be able to find a good compromising setup. 8) Does anyone know of any good places for arch rolling in Lancashire? All I seem to get is...............whats arch rolling???? :brickwall:

Hi all, Been swimming through the vast threads on 16x9 wheels for weeks but still cant decide whether to go for them or not. Noticed that there arn't many.....if anyone runnning these: http://www.tunershop.co.uk/uk/shop.php? ... b27db5a588 Specs are: Kerscher Carmona - 9x16 ET15, which I'm thinking may not be enough offset. I'd probably go for the 7.5x16 on the front and 9x16 rear but I don't want to go down the flared arch route. Would rolling the arches be enough? Or should I forget this wheel type and stick to one with more offset? Help :?

Tango and storm2, IMO you're best off trying the wd40 trick that RW1 suggested. It's dead easy and worth a try. If it works it'll cost you nowt! I changed my ecu and fuel pump relays as reseating them always seemed to sort it. You think you've solved it, then one day, its gone again. Moving the relays must have been moving the wire to the immobiliser box. Also hitting the dash under the headlight switch worked too but its not a solution. It's been a month or so since I did it's working fine! :D Touch wood!
-
Well guys, Touch wood it seems to have cleared up the problem since I WD40d the connector pins on the immob box. Now I've just to sort my sunroof and the heater fan............again! Cheers for all the help fellas! :D
-
Cheers guys, Not sure what the reader coil looks like dr_mat. I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to cars! Ive had the panels off though and done the wd40 trick so I'll have to see how that goes..... I checked the chassis number and it is later than 50SK000719 but for some reason there is no chip in the key.... :? I also has a spare cut at the local key shop and that works just as well as the origional. I forgot to mention I had a Clifford G5 fitted last year(alarm/immob) but since the problems started I had the immobiliser disconnected so should'nt affect it right?
-
Hi people, I've searched high and low on here and can't find a matching problem. Its a rado vr6 94 and it's showing all the signs of the immobiliser problem. Turn the key, the fuel pump primes, get a spark, engine starts then cuts out after about 1 second. Problem is, there is no immobiliser on it! Ive had it on the computer at the garage and no faults have shown up. Ive checked all the relays for damage, all seem to be fine. However, In checking the relays and re-seating them, it seemed to have solved it. A few weeks later the problem is back. As messing with the relays seemed to work, I bought a new ECU relay. (109) Again, seemed to do the trick.......yep.....it's back again! Mechanic has'nt a clue, Auto electrician has'nt a clue and I'm stuck. Can anyone suggest a possible cause? Could it simply be a loose connection behind the fuse board? Ta.

Cheers matie! Most appreciated!

Thanks for the feedback guys. It looks as though the BMC is going to be the one. Thanks KADVR6! I'll keep my eye on that one! Will that fit on the Rado or is it just for the golf? The reviews on the BMC CDA sound mint and just what I'm looking for! Cheers for the feedback Oettinger SLC. You've probably saved me a lot of agro mate!
