  1. Hi Guys Thanks for that Sorry did a search and couldn't see anything but there were hundreds of threads come up ! Will go for the smaller one I think, 45 delivered is a bargain for the slimmer one as that's the 60 squid one !
  2. Hi Guys Looking to get a bottom spoiler for the rado as it never had one when I got it, could somone tell me I have a 90/91 rado and the spoiler offered is from a 95. I know it's slimmer then the early one's but this would help me with the lowered suspension but wondered if they are the same size width ways etc and it's just a height differnce. Thanks Dave
  3. Hi Guys I now need a new set of hoses as it's got a leak...somewhere (very tiny) and the bottom hose is softer then bazil brush. Is there anywhere that does them as Samco say they are not available or anybody got any good suggestions ? Thanks Cookie
  4. I only stick in Super with my 1991 1.8 16v, now the cam is timing properly and tuned properly it's like a fighter jet sound and the miltec always puts a smile on your face !
  5. 90.5K and just been tuned and running like 40K !
  6. Hi Guys Just looking over the brake system and the hose from the main servo and the (technical part) thing behind the heatshield ...lol It's a rubber blue hose similar to fuel pipe. Could someone look at their and tell me what type of pipe it should be as I think there is a possibility of another bodge it. If anyone has a spare even better :) Thanks Dave ps going in for a tune and the mixture sorting so tomorrow night should be happy days !!!
  7. vr6 were not too bad but have to take the long way around to everything, up here in Ballaugh. No mine is the Silver, has shitty 5 spoke tsw 's at the mo but have some 17s ready, not perfect but look better then what's on !
  8. thanks Gavin will give it a go. Got the dizzy fitted and put the missing bolt in so the dizzy has 2 bolts holding in not just 1.....why do people do half jobs !
  9. no what you mean, like prison here if your not out in time, but it's crap weather so practice and racing hasn't been on. lol vr6, still learing lots not done a radiator on one of these yet. the rado is a great car to learn on. I have a calibra too which i am learning so much on. Considering I work in an office Im not doing bad these days ! Managed to get the rado idling well now and still going around replacing the missing bolts ( and hopefully will get the black smoke stopped soon and can start on the bodywork.
  10. muat admit I was thinking that today, checked the revs against the MFA and it's 95% correct so think I'll move on.
  11. bad news, the allen shaped bolt seems to of been rounded off ( think this will need a metering head, dont oyu think or could I just use a vice grip and adjust it, what you think ?
  12. Great guys, thanks. will have a go today, unfortunetely dont have a CO sensor so gonna have to temporary adjust it for now and take it in the garage to get it properly checked, unless anyone else has any other suggestions.
  13. firstly appologiase if it shouldn't be here but went on the fact it's inside   I have just been playing with my tacho as it wasn't working, another bodge it job ! I started inspecting the circuit board and noticed that there is a component blown, if you look on the side view between 1500 and 2000 rpm on the guage, it seems to be (what's left) a brown type resister/transister and wondered if anyone can get a picture or can identify what it is so I can replace it ? Good news is though I have got it working again by puting it back in the cluster correctly ! Thanks guys Dave (again) :)
  14. thanks Grade A, thought I'd checking but checking for so much at the moment I can never remeber !, sorry )
  15. Hi guys Does anyone have a guide on what's available and how to access them ? Heard a hidden rev counter is available and mine isn't showing oil temp, I gather this just means the sensor is knackered !? Thanks Dave
  16. Hi Guys Weekend at last which means work on the car time now :) Got lots sorted on this beast over the last few days and rectified the bodge jobs which have been done. I need to sort the mixture out now as I have the car idling almost smooth but there is more black smoke then off a burning oil tanker ! I have searched but cant find any easy way of sorting the mixture out, does anyone know how to sort it without taking it to the stealers ? Also I need to replace the dizzy and i know you need 1 on TDC, is their an easy way to do this / tell ? Thanks guys Dave
  17. Thanks guys, that's 1 less job ! Appreciate what you are saying h100vw but the problem was I didn't know when it was last done and with all the bodge jobs that have been done I was more inclinded to ensure everything was tip top when I finished. Like a woman if you know where she's been thats ok but if not you take precautions ! lol
  18. Hi Guys After getting the car almost running fine after fixing the bodged jobs I gave the engine a good flush with oil so it became nice and golden coming out and filled 'er up. Now when cold it sounds like an old typewriter but when hot smooth as silk (not common i know !) so wondering if it is the oil pump that's given up the ghost ? Is there any easy way to check, does anyone know where the power feed to the pump is, I was thinking put some power to this when she is off as then you should be able to hear something ? If it is the pump, what's replacement like ? is it just a case of dropped the sumppan and replacing or is there more to it ? Cheers Guys Dave ps. Im using semi synth 15/40 oil if that helps
  19. Thanks guys, it is a 91 1.8 16 Valver and has just the standard metal pipes, as you say think it's going to be a sand and hammerite job to ensure they dont rust anymore. Hope everyone had a great bank holiday, fab weather to get stuff done for a change !
  20. Hi Guys I need to replace the fuel lines which run in the engine bay as they look too rusty for my liking, does anyone make these/supply these other than VAG ? Thanks Dave
  21. Guys interesting one, I just took the lead off the ISV and it made no differnce altogether. Also I pulled the hose that runs to the air filter pipe, running along the length of the engine to the ISV, and it increased in rev speed, if you put your hand over the outlet where this pipe normally goes on it slowed down to how it runs with this pipe on, seems a bit strange this pipe is making no differnce dont you think ?
  22. Hi guys Thank you for the warm welcome guys ! Vr6 will look out for you too, mine is silver. Currently just got 5 spoke TSW but have some CSM multispoke 17" to go on shortly. Its defo surging on idle and also when you are going low revs it's like a kangaroo ! so sure it must be one of the breathers.
  23. :) Hi All I have just got a 1.8 16 valver and got to say firstly what a great car. I am usually a vaux man myself but couldn't believe what a great package the corrado is, i know the others are more powerfull etc but for a 1.8 it pulls' fantastic ideal for over here on the IOM. As anticipated with buying a cheap/need work job I need to get it up and running so the misses doesn't moan too much, im sure your all aware what that's like. It had a huge lip hole in the air hose that connects air filter / throttle body which as you can imagine made it rough as hell, does anyone have one of these "lying around" I need both sections. I did a make shift fix for now and replaced dizzy cap, arm, leads, plugs ok, and ignition coil and it made a noticible differnce but I am still having trouble with it. The idle surges but is fine at speeds above 30mph. It is also pluming out black smoke when idling which I gather it's running too rich and need to adjust the mixture at the air filter ? Only since I did the other bits has it started to burn oil on idle I think this is a breather hose blocked as there was no sign or smell of burning before I did the jobs, does anyone have any thoughts on the best places to clear out etc. Now it's breathing properly it's obviosuly showing faults I couldn't see before and hence why I think the breather hoses are blocked as before I sorted the air filter hose etc it ran fine and never was any smoke, what do you guys think ? Thanks for looking and hope to speak to you all soon on the forum. Cookie :-P
