    Porsche Rims

I believe this is correct for the Porsche alloys but I'm not sure if it works for the Audi rims. I have been dealing with Awesome [link] and they offer the 5 stud conversion for the Audi wheels. I'm also toying with the idea of fitting TT or S3 rims as an alternative to Porsche alloys, and was wondering if I got a Mk3 Golf or Corrado VR6 axle and hubs whether that would work. :?

Thanks, I can't remember if it is an 'official' version of what the new C will be or whether it was someone's mock-up. Would be nice if it was the real thing with 250bhp+ and 4wd!!!!

Thanks for the info guys. I am going to stick with original Porsche rims (lighter & stronger) rather than aftermarket wheels, even though this would be less hassle as I could get Cup 1 copies in a 4 stud pattern. I'd prefer the 7 x 17 size so sourcing them from a 964/993 is good news. Genuine Cup 1's - Ebay here I come...... :)
  4. Stunning!!!! Looks worthy of a magazine feature or two!!
  5. Thanks. Will have a look at the wiring.
  6. Tried that - Result: No light, sore knuckle....
  7. Should both reverse lights come on when reverse gear is engaged? :?: Only the nearside one works on my C (the bulb is OK...). Thanks
  8. I'll be stickering it up as I've got my own vinyl cutter, though it will be reasonably subtle - well that's the plan anyway!!!! What do you need? I've got most things apart from parcel shelf, front seats, front door cards and roof lining. It's all ok but definitely not concours!!! The rear seats are marked and have got a couple of small tears (few mm across) but are good apart from that. Let me know if you interested...
  9. Have now removed the rear trim and seats. Since taking the picture the rear seatbelts, interior carpet, trim around dash and gearstick have also been removed. I feel an advert in 'parts for sale' coming on as my garage is filling up....... ;-)
  10. Hi This is my second Corrado, my first was a LHD VR6 in violet metallic which was a bit of a brighter shade than the UK spec Blackberry. Hopefully this thread will chart the progress of my Pearl Green 16v from it's current state to a stonking trackcar. Time will tell..... As you can see it comes with some dodgy 15" 5 spoke alloys, grille spoiler and later style grille. What you can't see is lowered suspension of unknown origin, boombastic DTM exhaust (got to go soon...), aftermarket moonroof and TOAD alarm with a mind of it's own!!! All of this will be replaced over the coming months, but the icing on the cake will be a 20v turbo engine though this will be one of the last jobs I reckon. I've posted a couple of questions in the forum already and the response has been great, though I'm sure I'll be asking loads more..... Adios for now

Doh!!! Members galleries as opposed to personal galleries!!! Found the pictures, it's an awesome motor - very impressed.. :D
  12. Hi I'm going to be fitting a full rollcage into my Corrado in the next month or so. It is for strengthening rather than for show, and possibly MSA approved. Has anyone fitted one of these or do you know of a reputable company who would supply/fit? I've had a quote from Advanced Autosport for about £700 to £800 for full bolt-in cage with X rear diagonals and doorbars. Does this sound reasonable? Also there are a couple of Corrados in the VW Cup, any ideas where they sourced theirs from? I'll hopefully get to a round of the championship soon so I can probably find out from there, but any help in the meantime would be appreciated. It would something like this one fitted to a guy's Corrado in Japan (see attachment). Thanks

    Porsche Rims

Hi I'm thinking of fitting 7.5 x 17 inch Porsche alloys (either Cup 1's from 964/993 or standard Boxster items) to my 1990 16v once I've fitted the uprated suspension (probably Koni coilovers). It's currently running on 4 stud and I know I can get adapters to fit the 5 stud Porsche rims. Has anyone experience of doing this and are there any issues/problems that you know of? (e.g. clearance or offset). Thanks
  15. Nice one. I've got mine insured with Brentacre in Swansea (01792 650933), a modified policy that allows me to do almost anything as long as I keep it below 300bhp!!
  16. Hi Pete Have you tried Awesome GTI [link] for modding bits? I'm a bit biased as the guy who runs it is a good mate, but they offer allsorts of tasty stuff and they have modded all my previous Audi/VW's. I'm entrusting my Corrado to them to do the 20v turbo conversion, suspension, etc... :D Cheers
  17. Thanks for the info. I'll see if can get the repair manual to a good bodyshop so they can assess the work properly.
  18. Unfortunately the sunroof is an aftermarket glass one, otherwise I'd consider using the panel. I raced a Golf GTi mk1 that had a steel panel over the sunroof hole and I agree that it was a pain, plus it occasionaly leaked!! Thanks for the info I'll price up a roof skin and getting it fitted.
  19. I've a 1990 16v that has had an aftermarket glass sunroof fitted and I'm converting it to a track car so the sunroof has to go (looks minging anyway). I've had a bodyshop guy tell me it's not a big job and will look better than a sheet rivetted over the gap (I agree there). Has anyone out there ever replaced the roof skin of their Corrado?? Is it a reasonable job for a competant body shop??

Here's a link to the Awesome Mk1 VR6, it was a lot of work to get this in but the finished result was spectacular. :) Link - http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/gallery/mk1vr6gallery.html
