I had seen a vid a while back of some american putting his whole engine back together, obviously speeded up etc, but it was a 9min vid and i cant seem to find it anywhere now, does anyone know of it?
-
Honestly, only you guys could come up with so many innuendos!
-
Hahahahahahaha, ah class, stroking it, sounds like I must have been eh but in my defence I have taken gearknobs off from at least 3 other cars (all non german) and they came off in a jiffy, without much effort at all, so thats why I was holding back a little cos it was different than any other car I have tried it in :?
-
Fook me dont I feel like a plum, it was just unscrew, I just had to put a little effort into it, I think I'm a bit too paranoid sometimes that I might break something, either that or I need to start doing some weights, lol Thanks guys
-
My one just wont screw off though, any ideas?
-
Hahaha, I didnt type ham But even after all those threads, I still cant get it off, it wont unscrew, any more tips people?
-
I never said its useless, i said I couldn't find anything, there's a difference ;)

I managed to get the gold ring off the gearknob so the gaitor sides off it but I am still unable to take the gearknob off, how does it come off? I have just bought the SNS Billet gearknob, I assume this will fit fine? And yes, I have used the search but couldnt find anything

I just got a reply from Bill Schimmel via email and he says he has had trouble with the Fidanza flywheels. This is the email reply; "Yes we have a light weight steel flywheel. We don't use alum since we have had many problems with. Our flywheel is cromoly steel very long life and abilty to resurface" Alum is the Fidanza flywheel, so in regards to this email, what would you guys recommend? His own one is $290 plus shipping, compared to the $292 plus shipping for the Fidanza on eBay, so no real difference in price. Weight wise, the Fidanza one is 6.5lbs and Bil Schimmel's one is 9lb, opinions guys?

Engnie torque and driving style govern clutch life. Most people don't have problems with the stock clutch when using a Vortech supercharger. I never did with 12psi. If you're going Rotrex or turbo, then I would definitely fit a beefed up clutch. The Helix is among the best out there and will last at least 50K on a modified engine. I'm getting Vince to supply and fit the supercharge, any ideas which one he uses? I do drive the car hard but never abuse it, never side step the clutch etc etc.

Sorry to be a bit thick, but I take it these ones that fit the 2.8L engines are fine for our engines aswell?

He says on his "Contact" bit on his site that the best way to get a quick reply would be to email him as they are usually too busy to pick up the phone. So email sent, and awaiting reply now :D Since you seem to eager to help, I am planning on supercharging the VR6. Will soon be getting the timing chains done along with a new clutch, flywheel, Schrick manifold and cams. Anything else you recommend getting done at the same time (money still being a factor)? I was thinking Helix clutch, any idea how long they last in comparo to OEM clutch? Anything else you can think of?

Nice one, shall try that tomorrow, thanks for your help mate :)

Ok, maybe I'm just being a spaz but I cant seem to find Fidanza flywheel on either of those sites, maybe I need some sleep?
-
Erm, apologies in advance but can you be more specific? Typing "schimmel" into google brings up oriental cats and pianos...

I've been looking around the internet and it seems it would make a lot of sense to buy direct from the states, rather than a retailer here. Rather than me taking a risk, I was hoping someone would share their experience(s) with any particular seller over there? Where would be the best place to buy from?

What should be done along with timing chains?

Hehehe, thanks for that. Is that all then? -
I'm going to get my timing chains done soon, and whilst I'm at it, getting a new clutch put in, lightened flywheel and a diff aswell. Is there anything else that would be recommended to check/get done whilst all this work is being done?

Can you afford to run a corrado, 1.11 per litre?
Dr Forinor replied to anndy's topic in General Car Chat
£1.07 where I am for V Power, and its my daily drive, costing me about £55 per week to run it :( -
Thanks for that. And if i need longer ones, where should I get them from?

Sorry to bring this from the dead, but I'm in a position where I want to buy either Kenlowe or Spal. Questiions; 1. Will the standard cowling be fine for either Spal/Kenlowe? 2. I may aswell replace both fans with the aftermarket ones? 3. What size is the standard ones, i assume obviously go for the same size kenlow/spal? 4. How much is a new cowling? Stealers only or someplace else?

Ok, sorry if this sounds like a really stupid question, but I've just bought 16" BBS RX wheels and I want new bolts to go with them, is there anything specific I need to look for? Is it just a case of "get whatever bolts" ? Where would be the best place to go? Any particular brand? Thanks in advance

Cheers for the help guys :thumbleft:
