I had thought about this but did have at the back of my mind I'd never get my damn sump out of them.
-
Funnily enough I only found this thread after appalling service by G-werks and i was curious if I was alone. I ordered a shallow sump for my 20v after I out a whole in my mine. I made it clear to Darren I needed one ASAP as the car is off the road without it. Said someone would call back and get my card details, never happened. So rang up, asked me all the details about turbo used etc and then took my card details, which I was then billed for 2 hours later. No sump by the Friday so I called - no answer Called Saturday - no answer Called Monday - spoke to a guy called Matt who said the parts hadn't arrived but that Darren would call back. Asked why I was billed if the parts weren’t there or sent? This happened everyday until Thursday night when I sent an e-mail asking why if the parts hadn't gone had they billed me and asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere I called Friday and finally got hold of Darren who suggested he was about to call me but couldn't find my number (was on the e-mail). Said Matt wasn't very good and that the parts hadn't been sent because of delays. i asked for a refund and he said he would but the parts had been sent that day and the tracking details would be in my e-mail tomorrow. He also said it was shipped next day so they’d be there Saturday at the latest, in hindsight believing this makes me feel like a proper fool. Anyway the sump didn’t show Saturday, or Monday so called again – no answer Called again today and got Matt. Asked for Darren but he was “busy with a customer” but would e-mail the tracking details right over once he was done. Still no tracking details, its so frustrating, and if he'd just said sorry they're on back order I could of got one elsewhere.

Having a total mare with some 2nd hand coilies I bought 1. On the fronts, if I leave the nut and washer that hold the top mount in place see pic Then fit the top cap, it looks like this? However, if I remove the nut and wasner then fit the top cap followed by the locking nut and washer I'm still left with a small gap. Not sure what I can do to resolve this but was curious if there was any difference between the VR6, G60 or 16v Corrado FK Konigsports as I wonder if I have the VR units rather than the 16v items. I checked on EKTA and there is a different top plate listed for the VR - anyone know the difference? 2. When I removed the OEM rears there were a number of nuts and spacers. I tried to refit the FKs but the parts didn't fit, instead they sat on the top of the thread like so. I remember from my mk1 golf FKs that I was given a bag of replacement washers and spacers as well which I tried them and they fitted. So my question is do I need a set of replacement washers for the rears on my Corrado and has the seller either forgotten to include them or stiffed me like a good un? Appreciate the help Bernie

Being the bright lad I am I took my old suspension off in a bit of a hurry to give to the gent I bought my coilovers from. Now I can't remember what the fitting order is, do I run this nut down a bit further and then fit the top plate and locking nut on top? Or do I remove it and the washer (see next to top mount in below pic) and then fit the coilover, then top plate the washer and lock nut? Appreciate the help, feeling a bit of a dumb ass Bernie

As my rado is the newest car I've ever owned, I'm not really sure what the rules are come MOT time regarding catalytic convertors. Plan on having a full system fitted in the future but didn't know if I'd have to remove and refit the cat every MOT time. Appreciate the help Bernie

Get it wrong and you'll end up with this situation -36 offset, whoops

Was more interested in how he had done I've been thinking, I could fit 195/45s on (not sure if thats even possible at the moment) then that'd bring the tread in another 10mm. Means I'd only need to pull/stretch the arches about an inch. As this is a form over function project and the car didn't cost that much I'm not to worried if it looks a little out there. I have some 9x16 Dezents as back up rims as well so if it all goes pear shaped I can salp them on.
-
How much of the tyre has to be covered legally? Bit annoyed as they're much wider than I wanted, but fancied it being properly low on 15s. Will see how we go. Do remember seeing a red rado with stretched arches on some phat BBS' somewhere to, anyone know what I'm on about?
-
No adapters, 9x16 mattigs with an ET of 36 stated in the ad I got them from and printed on the rim. Think they're probably -36 tbh. It'd be boring if it was easy though eh

Whats involved as the new wheels stick out a bit further than expected. The front arches don't look to bad (although I'll have to mod the arch liner a bit) but the rears are double skinned so not sure how to do it, pics would help as well. Cheers B

I'm after some pics of rados sitting low on wide 15s. I've tried looking through the gallery, but can only find 16s which isn't really th loook I'm after Any help would be great Bernie

I want to smooth the front bumper on my rado, is it best to get the three spaces plastic welded ip or just get jiggy with a smeg load of fibreglass. Thanks Bernie

Thinking of getting some wide 15s on my rado, but not sure if the'll look to small.... can anyone show me some pics please?
-
Get some pics up as I'm debating getting some steels on my rado and wouldn't mind seeing what they look like. Have you thought of fitting some 15 inch wheel trims to them, might look a bit different Are yours 8x15? They're pretty rare now as weller are are no longer selling to the general public, just to racers so if you do sell them you could probably get a good price for them. Bernie

Bad News for Car tuning / modding scene !!!
boy bernard replied to Tempest2's topic in General Car Chat
This is why I'm thinking of moving to the US - they let you do pretty much anything to your car/truck out there (you can make your owb banded steelies and no one bats an eyelid) - and its such a massive place, legislation like this would take a lifetime to get in place and enforce. Add to the fact most the traffic cops I met when I lived out there (quite a few to be honest :oops ) are either die hard car nuts, backwards or more well up for a bit of bribery. We may slate the yanks, but they tend to leave drivers to themselves (apart from Calafornia) and gaaaaaaaaasooooooooline is cheap as chips. Also I can have a gun rack in my rado then. B -
Sorry to post jack, but will mk3 coilovers fit a Corrado as well? I've noticed a few sellers suggesting they are interchangable. Thanks in advance Bernie

Interesting thread, like the concept rather than the same old questions over and over again. I'm looking to do a budget lowering job on my Corrado, plan to buy second hand as I'm in no rush (car isn't on the road yet). I understand the Corrado shares some or all of its platform with other dubs, does this mean I can fit mk2 suspension to my Corrado, and maybe even mk3 stuff as well? Would love to splash out £500 on suspension, but it'd be worth more than the car. :)

The driver side rear arch on my car has taken a bit of a smack. bit to much to hit with the filler so want to get a new arch welded in place. Can I use the arch from the front wing? If not how easy is it to source rear repair sections? Cheers B

Just picked up a Rado 16v, its in a pretty poor state bodywork wise but like a challenge. Some might know me from E38 as Bernie Off to look around
