  1. Thanks for that guys, I thought it seemd like plastic as it was flexing when I was trying to undo it with the big adjustable. Looks like I'll probably need one of those straps and or a big socket. Cheers for the help.
  2. Thought I'd put an entry in for the stupid question of the week award. I decided to change the oil on my 94 Vr6 bought the oil and filter from the dealers thinkin I'll save my self a few quid. Having drained off the oil I cannot seem to remove the oil filter housing, is there a special tool for this or will a large spanner on the end bit do the job with plenty of force? thanks in advance to anyone who can put me right on this simple task.
  3. thanks for the advice here chaps I'll check these things out, previous owner has put a stereo in not sure how long since though. Stereo has to come out as I've also got the heater controls to replace so I will check then and report back.
  4. I'm just wondering what the problem could be with the rear spoiler on the corrado I've just bought, it works fine on the button but never operates automatically at speed, tried up to 110! but I presume it's below that? I'm told this is a known problem but not sure where to start in getting it fixed. It's on a 94 VR6 by the way. Thanks to anyone who can advise.
  5. Well thanks guys you've certainly put some clarity on the situation, i guess when I go to look at a car I'll ask if it's been done. So would you recommend just listening to the engine to hear any kind of rattles? I know they can be a bit tappety these VR engines but is the rule of thumb if it's nice and quiet then it's probably a good one? Thanks
  6. Hi, just after some advice before I part with my hard earned cash on a VR6. I have heard the timing chain is best replaced around 100k according to Stealth. Is this the correct advice, this will cost around £600 to do including new valves and other bits and pieces according to them (stealth). I was also advised that this was a good time to change the clutch if not already done the tune of a Further £650 pounds this does include other bits and pieces can't remember the detail. As i'm looking to buy in the £4000 to £5000 area this effectively means if any of the above work isn't done I could be spending around £5500 or more which starts to look at bit expensive for a 100k mile car ant advice appreciated on this. Thanks. :)
