  1. Hello all I'm working on a uni project to design concepts for gear change systems, to do this we've decided to research existing linkages. I was just wandering if anyone could tell me how the linkage on a rado is setup and if you've got any pics / diagrams that would be great. Sorry I know its a strange one! Cheers in advance Chris oh and if anyone has the patience to complete the attached questionnaire then please pm it back to me. Thanks again.
  2. I think there all in the right order now, it seems to start and idle fine, no more explosions! It still misfires when revved a bit, hopefull this'll iron itself out!
  3. Good idea in theory but I can't tell from the pics I can find. If anyone else knows please let me know. Cheers
  4. Thats a good idea i'll give it a go! Cheers mate[marq=left]
  5. I've quite stupidly managed to turn checking the condition of the plugs and changing the dizzy cap and rotor-arm into a bit of a mare! At the moment the car won't run on all cylinders and keeps igniting unburnt fuel in the exhaust (much to my neighbours surprise!!). I'm pretty sure the leads are in the wrong order on the cap, does anyone know which cylinder goes to which point, and yes I know i'm a fool for mixing them up!! Cheers all Chris
  6. Cheers for your help Gavin, just thought i'd let you know that the car was fixed by an electrician, he found another dead imobiliser in there too! Chris
  7. hello all, car died on me today. There was no spark, and the RAC tells me that the feed to the coil has been shut off by the immobiliser, or at least a connection to it (As the car started fine when this had been bypassed). I wanna have a go and fix it myself but i'm a bit unsure as to where to start, is it likely to be a tricky job, bearing in mind the dash has to come off at some point to fix the matrix. Does any one know what sort of fee a garage might charge? Any help would be very much appreciated.
  8. Looks like its more than likely a replacement windscreen then. Just had to have the stone chips fixed in the thing for the pending MOT. Glad it didn't need a new screen, it seems there a little dear!
  9. Mines a faded red 1.8 16v too, needs a good t-cuttin I think... I could proabably have got a much better C for the money but was a little naive in buying mine I guess. But still it gets me in and out of work every day, about a 50 mile round trip. It's plenty nippy (my last car was the non turbo 306!!) and I just enjoy the drive in general. Its the sort of car you just want to get back to perfect, i've set aside some time before going back to uni to have a bit of 'quality time' with the car and try and get some of the dents n so on out. Think i'll get some pics on here for ya. Good work though matey i'm glad i'm not alone!
  10. Thanks all, I'll have a look at the chassis no. and door glass tonight. It did seem a bit implausible that someone would bring it to the other side of the world! I did hear that they drive on the same side as us in the UK... No i've not found anything out of ordinary yet but i'm new to corrados, tbh i'm pretty new to cars! Out of interest and off topic, but does anyone know how much these cars where from new?
  11. I've only had my C for a few months now and despite its various probs that i've been sorting: Dodgey odometer (thanks for your help on that by the way :D ), bypassed matrix and dents / faded paint I'm still very much in love! I noticed the other day that the windscreen read Pilkingtons of New Zealand. A mate at a dealers did a hpi for me which showed an import stamp. So can anyone tell me if the obvious is true and the car is from New Zealand? And if so are there differences that anyone knows of between uk and non uk cars, apart from the side you drive on! Sorry to waffle, it's been bugging me! Cheers all Chris
  12. Sounds good matey, where and when?
  13. Thanks Bally! Fun aint it, its got a few other niggles but so much fun round the roundabouts, certainly sticks a shed load more than my old 306! Hello Cymru-Corrado, i've not had the chance to have the clocks out of mine yet but when I do i'll let you know.
  14. Glad to be here! Thanks for the quick replies. No i've not noticed any clicking but its hard to hear over the scorpion b/box bodged on by the previous fool! :( I'll have a crack at getting the clocks out and have a good look. While i'm at it i'll check out that hose too, it'd be nice to know what sort of mileage i'm getting. Thanks for the offer, if the clocks do turn out to be at fault i'll be in touch Kevin. Chris
  15. I bought a 1990 16v about a month or so ago and whilst driving back noticed it was clocking up no mileage, like a fool I paid cash and to be honest love the car far too much to wanna get rid! I'm new to Corrado's so can anyone please tell me what my options are (if any!), i'm told my car has the older type of clocks on it i.e. not digital milage? The strange thing is that the MFA mileage, revs and speedo all read out fine, however the mpg readouts defaulting to 99.9?? BR Chris
