  1. Ran the car to work fine this morning, and out at lunchtime no problems. Get in it to go home and the red coolant light is flashing pretty much straight away. I checked the coolant level last night and it was fine - can't see any leaks either. It usually runs with the coolant between 80 and 90deg's and the oil temp at 92/94 degrees. On the drive home the coolant was between 90 and 100 and the oil temp was up to 100/104 at worst but dropped a few times to 94 deg with the red light flashing all the time. Anyone got any ideas on what to check for first? I've read the 'temperature sky high' thread on here but don't know where to start with this as the coolant temp isn't sky high.

Cheers guys! I've only got the Passat Haynes manual to go by for a firing order and figured it would probably be the same but wanted to check I'd got the leads right. The cap is a clip on job with a black 'gimp mask' rubber protector over it. Bought it from Hellfords and aren't particularly impressed with the quality of it so might take it back.

    Dizzy

Bought a new dizzy cap and rotor arm for my 16v today as the old one was showing a few signs of wear and I wanted to rejuvenate the ignition side of things to keep fuel economy at its best. Anyway, whilst swapping the caps I managed to drop it and lost which way round it was and which HT lead went where. Now I think I've sorted this out but can anyone tell me 1) the firing order 2) the cylinder numbers from left to right and 3) what order the HT leads should be connected to the cap in starting from top left working clockwise?! Just in case I need to do anything else with it. Oh yeah - is it correct that the cap is able to rotate a couple of degrees once clipped on? Thanks  :)
  4. cheers guys - the fact that the stereo has been changed would probably explain the lack of auto-activation - need to get myself a manual now so I can find out which wires they are. is there a way to get it working if the stock stereo isn't fitted anymore?
  5. The speed activated spoiler on my new Corrado (first one I've owned) only works off the switch but seems really slow - I've no idea how fast its meant to move, but it takes roughly a full minute to go from down to full height - is that usual? And is there a simple way to get the speed activation working again (ie. is it just one switch/unit)? Thanks!
