  1. What's wrong with that? Better than an Audi!
  2. Saw one in Ned Potter's, Hereford today - Trade garage. M reg Red 2.0l 8v, @90k on the clock, reasonable condition but not immac - £3,500 to clear, no warrenty etc.
  3. Hehe, a Colorado eh! Nice motor!
  4. Know what you mean about getting attached to cars, I doubt whether I'd ever part with my Scirocco GTX - owned it for 8 years now, covered 70k in 7 years in it, just spending around £2K having it restored/sprayed. Do enjoy the C though, maybe she's been lowered by one of the previous owners or had the suspension stiffened - dunno! Take care and hope you come to something about transportation!
  5. PS - Don't sell the C to fund a 'sensible' company car - you'll regret it!
  6. Thankee kindly sir for helping me out with a daft question, being a newbie etc. Apologies to the mods as we got off thread here, sorry! Mine's a face lift as well then, the beast has abs as standard as well - mine is a '92 model - maybe that's why your mate's G60 doesn't have abs, being a year older. Nip over to the Spotted thread - you'll see my post there relating to seeing you the other Saturday! Hope to see you soon - Shobdon is only another 16 miles on from Ludlow but if your C has the same ride as mine, very bumpy due to poor road surface.... that's the only downer to C ownership, oh yeah, I keep grounding my front spoiler too........... :(
  7. Well it was nice to 'meet' you Blair! Hope to see you around some time! Dumb question - what is meant by 'Face Lift Model'? Yours looks like mine from the pix, is it like with Scirocco's - MkI & MkII?
  8. Hi Blair, Don't live in Ludlow, live in Shobdon but occasionally have to work in Ludlow at Roundabout Stationery. Think I saw you on 24th September around 5.30pm ish - were you on the A456 travelling towards Tenbury Wells near Little Hereford? I did flash the lights and the driver waved. 8) Mine's a J Reg Bordeaux Pearl G60. Don't know who owns the other cars though sorry. I gather there are about 3 Corrado's in Ludlow. :) My work colleague said my car has a nice arse! Weird kinda compliment but a compliment anyway!
  9. My car was being admired last friday in Ludlow. Lady pulled up in a vauxhaul and said that it was a nice looking car, she's from the States. Turns out she's over here working, went back home last saturday and has a Corrado back in the US - a V6 (that's what she said) in bright red! Told her to visit this wonderful site!
  10. My sister saw my car for the first time on Friday - to her cars are just a means of getting from A-B but she actually admired my G60 (- gotta forgive her as she owns a Ford Escort!)
  11. Well my dad likes my Corrado so that's all that matters!
  12. Friday 23rd September - Dark Grey H reg Corrado parked up in Mill Street, Ludlow. Tasty! Saturday 24th September, A456 nr Little Hereford, saw J reg dark blue Corrado - returned my wave! Possibly a G60? Monday 26th September in Wrexham, Red Corrado - HAZ**** driving through town (nr Lloyds Bar - I was on foot, did shout and point but wasn't seen!
  13. It's cameraderie - get the same with the Scirocco and motorbikes too. Walked up to a complete stranger today in Ludlow and started talking to him about his bike - Kawasaki Z1000H1 - first fuel injected production motorcycle, only 163 imported in the uk - my better half has one, saw one once in south wales and to see a third was wonderful. Only covered 14K in 25 years! Seeing that and a Corrado VR6 made up for a very crap day at work!
  14. Mate popped round Saturday night to borrow my motorcycle manual and didn't know about my G60 - "ooh, that's one on the list of proper cars that I want, always liked them...." etc. Kinda makes you feel good don't it!
  15. Dark Metallic Green VR6 on lovely 5 spoke alloys with Toyo Proxes fitted on the rear spotted parked up in Broad Street, Ludlow tonight - M750??? (or was it 760 - vodka and J20 have fuzzed the brain since) about 5.40pm tonight - nice looking car!
  16. Took the G60 into ATS to have the Toyo's fitted to the rear on Saturday. Car oggled at by 3 of the mechanics. 2 I know anyway, the 3rd walks up and says to my better half that it's a nice car... to which Dave the mechanic says 'talk to the pilot then' pointing at me!# It is nice owning a car that deserves attention but don't you just hate it when men assume that it is a man's car..... - here goes, opening up preverbial can of worms..... Sorry!
  17. White Rado in Leominster about 8.50am ish both yesterday and today, I did wave yesterday, honest! (Mine's the Bordeaux Pearl G60 Jreg, broken headlamp) :silly:
  18. Calling a Corrado a Passat :!: - that is the ultimate, bad enough when a copper asked me if that was my Passat parked outside (was loading up) - I replied yes, thats my Scirocco out there! I thought that was bad! For the first time ever I have a list of people who say 'when you sell the G60, let me know!' :) Have had one bloke smile at me as I drove past him, work colleagues admiring the C - one said I looked like a Bond Girl with the Raybans on! And a mechanic at a local garage was well impressed with the C this morning! 8) Helps take your mind off of the dullness and crappiness of life and work!
  19. Did that, no bolts. I'll take Scarletts advice and put a pix on the site another night to see if anyone recognises it... will plod on and see if we can overcome! Have just arranged to buy a manual on CD from Chris via Ebay so that'll be a big help I hope! (PS - many thanks again!)
  20. It is an after market knob which is leather, has no markings on it and comes down the shaft a fair amount. I prefer the original which was given to me with the car. Haven't noticed any allen head screws into the side of the gear stick so maybe it's a Momo knob - sorry but all new to me so a bit double dutch! Should I be worried that the shaft is rotating when I tried to unscrew the knob? Getting a hot flush now, talking about knobs and shafts!
  21. How do you change the gear knob on a 92 Corrado? With the Scirocco, they are threaded and I tried to unscrew it. Obviously unsuccessful. Only concern is that the gear lever now rotates - have I buggered something? Should I continue to turn it clockwise to try and undo any unknown harm? Sorry for inane question.
  22. Corrado's are like buses - none for ages and then 2 in one day! Around 6pm ish, green K reg - I followed from the Cockgate crossroads on the B4362 and overtook the C and the box just before Shobdon village - got fed up of the horsebox. The C then overtook the horsebox and followed me til I turned off in Shobdon to go home. The only id on the rear of the car was Corrado - nothing else, being new to this I assume that it was a standard 1.8 or 2.0 litre? Then, on my way out last night, saw another, L reg I think parked up at the Maidenhead Inn, Orleton, on B4361 - about 8.40pm ish.
  23. Huh - what's so special - does it mean I'm a dyk!
  24. Apologies if there's already a thread on this line  but having just acquired my '92 G60 I was wondering what oil you guys use? I know that the previous garage used semi synthetic but unsure which brand. :( Any suggestions gratefully received. :) BTW 4got to ask but is there any probs with mixing different brands or grades of semi synthetic - know 'normal' oil is ok to mix brands but unsure about semi synthetic - know for example if you put normal oil in with synthetic it will seize your motor as it causes one of the oils to globulate and stop functioning.
