Bumping this one, as it doesn't seem like vwspares ships out of U.K. Any other tips? -
Are you 100% positive all your grounds are ok?....... Also if you haven't done it I would remove the distributor cap to check that the rotor is still in it's place, I had it once fool me when it had jumped of it's rod........
-
I think it's quite a common problem, not only VW.......:(, but yea, what where they thinking..........lol

If you talk to them about using it on steering wheel, please leave a comment back here.....;)

IIRC the shield is aluminium, and those washers are steel.......and "eating" through the shield...;)
-
Are these available in another metal type? (isn't the "going thru" caused by the 2 metals reacting with eachother?).......

Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
Did you take it out with the drivetrain, or just the engine? Also how much time do you guys recon it should take to pull it out?, (roughly)....... -

hmm, is the front only held by 4 bolts into the frame or?.....and a couple of screws on the top ?......or do you have to dismantle it in many steps?. If I end up takinging it out thru the front?...... Haven't decided yet, might be a bit cumbersome to jack it up to the height to take it out under the car?..... -
Anyone have any tips on what's the best way to take out the VR6 engine?, also going to change quite a few parts in the suspension as well, so was thinking of maybe taking the engine with the drivetrain on it "down" out of the car?. Any tips would be appreciated............reason for taking it out is to clean i properly, paint engine block, clean engine compartment, change the chain +++ different other maintenance.

Is Samco hoses for Golf MK3 VR6 the same as for the Corrado?
Mawrick replied to Mawrick's topic in Engine Bay
hehe, well, haven't decided about the color yet, might go with black for all I know (was why I wanted to see a corrado engineroom with pink first). But thought the color somewhere along with the brombeer color......:) -

Ok, so it should "kick" in even if it's out of gas?. And if it's not kicking in, I have to buy a new one I guess?..... -
Ok, but did you remove all the old stuff first, or can you just put it over the old? My original underseal seem to be in quite a good state, but have a few places that it have "slipped", and was thinking of maybe lightly paint over it with this stuff? (or most of the underside)?
-
I'v found something with part number: "D 003 500" body protection stuff (for the underside of the car) from VW, and was wondering if this is the "normal" stuff that is on the car when it's new?.. If so, how is it to apply, and is it also applicable to the innder wheel bays?. And how well does it work.....f,ex on parts that have lost the original protection, is it just to put on, or do you have to clean a whole area first?
-
Looks realy good! Out of interests may I ask if that's the cloth seats that's been redone in leather?, and did they have the whole car in, or do you just send them the bits?. And if I may ask how much the redoing in leather costs roughly? thnx

Will do, any idea what the difference is between Left hand kits and Right hand kits? -
When I bought my Corrado last summer it was empty of gas on the A/C system, is there any way I could check if the compressor still work, before I get someone to refule it?...... Also should I change out any parts before refuling?.

Unlimited budget to mod a corrado what would you do?
Mawrick replied to Swompy's topic in General Car Chat

Ok, but do they supply kits for the Corrado VR6? -
I see some places they only sell Samco kit for the MK3 golf VR6, would that be the same kit as for the Corrado VR6? Also any tips on where to look for purple samco corrado kit would be appreciated. I'v also noticed that some is for US marked, and some is UK market (Right Hand), what should I look for, having a Left hand drive car?.... Would also be nice to see an engine compartment with the purple ones fitted (maybe in a brombeer colored corrado, as that's what mine is). cheers!

Looks good, have the same brombeer color myselfe.....;) What break calipers are on the brombeer one? (the red ones)
