Leigh, check the horse-shoe pipes by the oil cooler, and also the head flange (under the intake at front, where mine was leaking) as it's plastic and quite fragile... both quite difficult to see leaks from... However sounds like a pretty obvious leak if it's twice a week refill!

TBH Dave in these "Troubled" times think you'll find the dealers chopping large amounts off the cost of new cars (esp if they can secure finance on it too, then its a dealer double win)... So for a K-plate VR the chop-in will probably be something like 3k.. esp if it's against a *shudder* Citroen! Sure Sonic will be along with all the trade secrets we need to know soon! :norty:

Rather shove wasps you your ass TBH Josh! Andy you know the area, a Micra's not going to cut it round here, need a mid-sizer, capable of eating miles to and from my parents house, and also occasional trips to DK as well... Honda Accord's looking appealing... and I quite like the styling of the "Late" estates... big and boxy! However "'er in doors" keeps pointing at MK5 golfs... because of the "pretty rear lights" :brickwall: So maybe a Bora Se/Sport TDI 130???
-
What was it???!!!! Damn mods and their damn mod editing! lets just say if you don't eat pork, don't have a shower round at Kip's house  Thought he'd got rid of the Abbatior/shower combo now?

Leigh, may have some p-worn 195/45/16 you can have soon... What's the water issue? Any ideas?

Gav.. sounds like a weak pump... on the unlock cycle. Possible seal leak... As Tom says Try another... takes more to unlock IIRC as working against the lock mechanism. Could try disconnecting one door see if that helps?

Sold April 2005 for £550+auction and transfer fees, I know because I was bidding, stopped at £500 :bad-words: so close on £750 all inclusive give or take £10 or so Ive noticed its up for sale on the cherished number plate sites http://www.regtransfers.co.uk/main/sear ... esults.asp for £1395 :cuckoo: considering these days how cheap the actual cars are, paying 1/3rd or so of the purchase cost of the car on a plate is pretty well stupid If that site actually have it for sale and aren't just taking a "Punt" with a desirable plate like so many of them do... big mark-up and once they have a fish on the hook call you and offer you slightly over the odd for plate... Mate had this with his call out the blue asking him to sell ... and lo and behold 4 sites were offering his plate for sale without his authorisation... in fact it wasn't for sale didn't matter!

Toyo PX4 (also known as Pro-ox 4's) Next Generation after the T-1R... Had some T-1S on the rears for a while (on my Compo) and noisier than PX4's so guess the T-1R with harder side walls will be noisier again.. PX4's lasted a good 10,000 on the front... just make sure if you get 4 to rotate (as you should with all tyres to get max life)

Jim, I'd love an 80's merc Station-wagon... but I'd end up spending on it... Wheels and Air-ride probably! boom there goes £2500  Stuart... funny.... no thrashed V-Tecs (so Shivics out), and would perefer 4-door and estate, hence the Aero-deck...
-
I'd go with PX4's TBH, they as good dry weather and better wet.. and think tehy come out cheaper too as well? I vouch for their wet performance... solid even with standing water!
-
Jim, in E-London... Mercs grow legs overnight! That or generally sit at the side of the road with a police car (or 2) behind them.. if you get my drift?
-
Cheap! couple grand I guess.. This will after all be a "London Car"...so will get banged up! :censored: Was also thinking Avensis, but couldn't deal with being flagged down as a "minicab" all the time!

OK so the pull of a reliable un-modded daily's dragging me in... But it has to be something I won't spend money on.. so been leafing through options and come up with.... Honda Accord Aerodeck.... "Later" one (Post 2003?) Big, comfortable, toys, bullet-proof... Any one got any real-life opinions? apart from :fondle: :camp: etc... Or was tehre ever a 4-door Type-R?
-
Holy Cow! Mine were £45 ish... about 2 months ago! Late 16v ones so should be same as VR as they are "Widetrack" ???
-
Gav, geta pair.. allways do suspension parts in pairs... Wishbones should be £45 each from VAG...
-
Yup will be fine on 7's Running 195/45/16 on my 2 sets of 16x7's Toyo PX4's are pretty cheap in 195/50/15 ATM and a great tyre too! Had them on my Estorils
-
All the wrong sizes! Should be 195/50/15... out the box... so your speedo will be out as the lower front profiles will give a smaller rolling radius...
-
Gav, available on their own and cheap (get VAG) ... snapped both of mine doing the wishbones a while ago! (but air-wrenches are fun!)
-
I'll back that up... they did my 928's (you know the Green ones!) and also did Jay Renshaws Corvette wheels too! They'll be getting my Compos too to re-do.
-
Will only let you a certain amount though.. I was usuing this a little while agao, and suddenly it started adding P-Pal fees onto the amounts... Seems to have re-set now though... last 2 have been at no fee...
-
It's an Americanism... harks back to the days when the whole front end of a car could be unbolted in one "Clip"... He's looking for the the whole front end from a VR, the a-pillar forward basically!

Trev, The above points are true... More so if it is a Storm Now I'm guessing you're new to the world of Corrados? If you're not, then I'm Sorry if this is like teaching Granny to suck eggs... Storms are the run-out model of the Corrado, there were 250 in green with Creme leather and 250 in Blue with black, both models should have Storm badging on the gearleaver console and rear panel under the Corrado script, both are quite sought after versions and command a premium. If it is a Storm, even a "rough" one fetches over 2k, and even if it's a "Normal" VR with tax and ticket, then it's worth that on the open market. Please if you are reading this, reconsider your decision and at least let an enthusiast have a chance at owning the finest coupe VW ever produced... rather than scrapping it, and by scrapping this means crushed, not broken for spares (which we all need!).
