Anyone know the whereabouts of this hot totty?...
diamondblack replied to diamondblack's topic in General Car Chat
So, we're settling on twilight violet then... (amazing how the colours change) Still, if anyone sees the car knocking about, please drop me a line. -
another smashed in corrado.......all fixed!!!!!!!
diamondblack replied to randomist's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah, it's partly the timing of it that makes it feel like such a killer. I had a similar thing happen when a week before my last one was due to go on sale a driver decided to go alllllll the way around a roundabout in the outside lane and t-boned me through a road sign and into the central reservation. By the way, impressive alloys. What are they? -

Anyone want a free car for 24 / 48 hours...
diamondblack replied to Andy665's topic in General Car Chat
its not 25 or older, i think its 21, infact it must be cos im only 22 No, it definitely says you have to be at least 25. Oh well, you only have 3 years to wait for them to do it again... -
I'd narrow that down even further and say there's only one reason: price. Because even if a car is crap, it will still find a buyer for the right price. We see that all the time when some C's that are not even roadworthy, still sell (albiet for parts).

Not a direct chuftie, I know, but still... just got off the phone to M&S car insurance for a quote and the guy dealing with me immediately started enthusing about Corrados, which made the whole process a lot more pleasant. He said that every day he gives out a 'Car of the Day' award (!) to the person who rings in with the best car and today he'd give it to the Corrado for being the best looking. He cheerily signed off with, 'enjoy that pretty car of yours!' He also said he once enjoyed blasting through the Blackwell Tunnel in a VR6 with the windows down... The fully comp/NCB protected quote of only £276.52 was pretty good too (on a 1.8 16v).

Met the guy who runs this - http://www.allgermanparts.co.uk - and said I'd drop a link on here. Genuine German parts from MERYLE, AUTEX GMBH and BERU for: VW - Bora, Golf 4, Passat 98-05 and Polo AUDI - A2, A3, A4, A6 and TT SEAT - Leon and Ibiza SKODA - Octavia They don't officially do CORRADO parts yet, BUT he's getting some bits for me, so worth enquiring; and I know quite a few of you run more modern VWs/Audis, etc, as daily drivers so I thought the link might be appreciated. Much better, I would have thought, to get genuine German stuff from here at GSF prices than actually buy the GSF stuff! NOTE: You can click on the link above - or, if you look for it by online serach you have to write the website address in your browser address bar to find the website as the meta tags that allow Google search, etc have not yet been written - but the parts direct hotline is also available 0845 622228

I rang about this recently but it had already sold (Westbury/Trewbridge area, I think). Just wondered if it had gone to anyone on here
-
Ha ha, thanks. Yes, they are.

Been offered some wheels - 17" (7.5J width) - with 205/40 tyres, but the offset is 32, not the standard 35. Would these still be okay for a 1990 valver? Cheers

The VW TEDDY BEAR - Only one thing could make this worse...
diamondblack replied to diamondblack's topic in General Car Chat
Good Buddah, I must be bored: just done a Google image-search and these wheels were actually made by Ronal. Word of warning - if you're thinking of searching with the terms 'Teddy Bear rims', be prepared to see some mighty strange pornography, my friends. But I waded manfully through all that cuddly toy porn so you don't have to. You're welcome... -

Holy Christ - those are actually alloys? I assumed they were wheel covers because it says 'Fits 14" only', which seems to suggest a cover. (But I've just seen that beneath that, it states '14 x 6', which obviously means alloy size.) Don't be silly. Have you not seen the photo on page 1? -

No 'groans' here, that's a good gag. I wonder if the car belongs to the golfer in the background. You know how little taste golfers have. -

And, remember, 'Other Colors Available'. That sounds like a threat. -
Well, that bolsters your case that it was incomplete when they picked it up. Try and get both the drivers to put that in writing as soon as possible. Even if it is just confirmation by email. If you leave it too long they might have done too many new deliveries for them to say they remember, but if you get them to confirm it now... Then you can use that as ammunition to back your case against the seller, should you need it.
-
It is an odd one, though, isn't it. Because if someone was going to nick some of it in transit, why only take one doorcard (and a few bits)? Which carrier did you use, by the way? (And, for future reference, which Ebay seller was it?)
-
Well, in that case, 'everything' means everything (just as 'full' means full). And it is odd that he sent ONE doorcard. You'd think that if his arguement will be that he never said there were any doorcards, then why send one? Although, using a third party to collect does leave you vulnerable to the old 'well the bits were all there when they picked them up' line.
-
That's gutting if you were expecting the full set. I might be missing something but in that list you posted, it says: 'Full VW Corrado VR6 (Storm) Cream Leather Interior in Very Good Condition Front & rear seats (front seats heated) Rear quarter panels Handbrake trim / gear selecter trim Centre console trims Cream roof lining / sun visors Sunroof controls Cream Carpet A,B,C pillow trims Parcel Shelf' I can't see any mention of doorcards. Was that the list he sent you? Maybe it's just a communication prob. Still, 'full' means full, doesn't it. If not full it should have said 'part'. Maybe in future for very high value sales, nearby members could do a 'check' on the goods as is already done for car sales.

Only £270.05, so I feel a bit blessed, looking at some of these. The again, I've never gone in for modding, and always bought standard, well looked after, FSH Cs, so I've never had anything big go bang. How much I would spend on one if I came up on the lottery, now that's a different matter...
-
Thanks for posting those. However, not everyone is as sensible as you. Some people are a little more literal minded. Take this guy, for instance... He's also written some stuff on his C. Unfortunately, he's written it in gold script across the bottom of the door. I can just about make it out; I think it says: 'For top quality shrooms, skunk, LSD and all other hallucinogens please see wwwfriedbrain.com'.

DOWN ON YOUR KNEES & GIVE THANKS: Corrado designer interview
diamondblack replied to diamondblack's topic in General Car Chat
Okay, we'll go for a mutation: I give you... the Corradodgeo. (Not exactly what Herbet Schafer had in mind.) -
Surely the moral of the story is one for gg7aph to learn - i.e. be honest - not for madscientist.
