  1. Mk3 Yeti, I've only had it about 5 months now, I'm doing the J14 to city centre run every day now! rado-steve, we would be doing most of it ourselves, only welding new engine mounts or anything like that would be a shop job! thats not an off putting price, quite a happy one actually... the thought is set. I've had quote for £700 engine w/out loom, seems bout right. the search continues - only time thats an issue, now 3rd year of uni approaches. will keep you all informed, Thanks for your input.
  2. Cheers Guys, will have a look and a listen tonight - if it stops peeing with rain!
  3. Hey all, had a look in search but couldn't find any answers. Just got the over heating fixed and now the spoiler has stopped working, Not at the top or the bottom but the middle!!! Doesnt even work from the manual switch. It looks silly :( . From what I can see no fuses in the box are blown - are there any hidden anywhere else? could it be the motor? or is there a more common fault? Cheers guys
  4. hey guys, Just one last plea for help with my Rad fan prob... I know my thermostat is ok and the temp sensor is working fine, and on longer drives when the slow VAG unit opens the temps are water 90 and oil 95 which I'm ok with, But still no fans. :( Does anyone know anything about the fan speen controller, not the thermoswitch or thermostat but the other unit? Or anything about the fuses and where they are lcoated, I think someone said one was with the fans speed controller? Cheers
  5. GGRRRHHH you and your dont download this, thats too big, you have virus, no internet for a month, naughty person lol, I shall keep an eye out for you, no worries...
  6. What a nice coincidence! I dont think I know your C? It's not the red one that parks outside Jack Martin? That was what made me sure I wanted Red! What building are you in? I'm third year Eng? Discount parts sounds great! I'm sure I'll be in touch :thumbleft: ... Cheers guys.
  7. Cheers Dinkus  , Audiscape Door pods on standby, focal speakers to join soon. That is Jammy, already finished!!?, why hasnt someone already finished mine???
  8. Yeah! im in Leamington for Warwick uni, starting September il be just off parade near the police station, but hopefully my C will stay in Milton Keynes stripped and ready for frequent trips down for the transplant... I only had this one up for a month or so before end of term, back in MK now working over hols. There are a few nice looking C's around leam, all seem to be being driven by boy racer N*bs :( ! I'll keep an eye out for you. Il be the one pointing going 'look corrado' with a crowd of peeps looking confused, arts and biology students just dont get it...
  9. 8) ! Thanks, I thought it was an awesome idea, glad it's now backed up! I hope supercharged could shed a bit of light on cost and some other issues, as being a skint student... well. you know, lol corrado ownership, cheers Jim
  10. hey guys, in a hair brained attempt to make the corrado a sensible student car for next years university hols. I'm thinking TDI conversion... I know supercharged has one by the sounds of it, Mk 4 6 speed TDI 1.9 is where i'm thinking, 8) basically, it'd cost me nearly 3k for a decent polo, so and then it'd be a polo. lovely, but not a nice change from the C. So... I'd love an idea of overall cost - bodywork mods to fit engine mounts or are they similar? difficulties and how happy you've been. I'm thinking we'll be able to find a good smashed rear ended golf somewhere to be a donor. We'll be doing alot of the grunt work ourselves, stripping, wiring and other bits, only welding / fuel system bits would get pointed to the garage. Anybody with any experience please write!
  11. Yeah, changed the thermostat too.
  12. I've got this prob too... I've had a new water pump and temp sensor - and radiator. Still its running hot, on shortish journeys im getting up too 105 - 108 deg on both oil and water. My fan has stopped but it's not the motor or radiator sensor/ is there another part to the system? It's averages around 105-108 when im doing 60 on the road, this still feels a bit high? any ideas? cheers
  13. Hey guys, I was on my way down to Newmarket the other day from Milton Keynes (A14 super smooth road...) when my 16v C overheated spectactularly! (after pulling off at a junction and sitting in traffic for a few mins) (it read 128 on the MFA oil temp and max'd out the water temp dial!) when it cooled I had to drive it about 3 miles to pick up my GF and it was gaining about 4 deg C a minute right up past its usual 110 running temp. So I think it happened pretty quickly after I pulled of the A14... had it in the garage and had new radiator, water pump and thermostat, however, the radiator fan has stopped too... The motor is working and apparently its not the sensor in the radiator, I have been told that there is a fan speed controller that takes a signal from the radiator thermo switch??? Even thought the thermo switch has three wires coming out that look like it could control both speads, is this true? Any body has this problem before and solved it? bill currently at £360, Hopefully I can fit the fan speed controller myself... Thanks for your help all,
  14. mmm, yummy look, OK, its my only car so it cant be off the road during the week to have that done, what size can I go to without any mods, I'm now thinking Borbet T's or BS, could I do a 16 x 7.5 (ET35 for BS and ET 25 for T's) or maybe a keskin KT3 16 x 7.5 et30! and get away with a 40mm drop? Cheers for your help guys, much appreciated Its all getting very exciting now!
  15. Hi Guys, Im after a set of Borbet A 16x9's (well rears anyway.), very original I know but they look spot on. I have found a set but the guy does not know the offset. Were there lots of different offsets available on these rims? Would I need any work done to fit them? (4 stud valver, 92) ATM i have some Fox racing 17's and i cant put 2 feathers in the back without rubbing. (ok 2 small bricks) :( Any help you guys can give would be great...
  16. Hmm, just had a quote back from Adrian Flux £2700. Not what i wanted to hear. Are there any rich old lady's with weak hearts around here?
  17. Well im being encouraged to sell it on. Most insurance companies wont look at me. but it has several bits that need sorting, thankfully the bodywork for the most part is in good nic. cheers for the help
  18. Hi, Does anyone know where i can get hold of the switches for my C's recaro electric seats? And also, how much is a reasonable quote to get the slide back in my sunroof? Cheers
